I'M BACK! I had a birthday, flew on a plane, drank some alcoholic crap, saw a skating show, visited the Space Needle, had the best steak ever made and checked my phone/someone else's xbox to try and catch-up on all the new news that has been going down.

SO, about the loli...

Her fighting style is pretty stereotypical loli. I guess it matches her stereotypical loli appearance and outfit and voice and name and... well, let's face it, she's not the most original token loli. However, for DOA she looks pretty unique and so I guess that's nice. Would've liked something with more novelty but y'know, my standards just ain't too high these days. Hopefully she has a lot of cool/flashy stuff we haven't seen yet aside from her trollwalk. Her C2 is really boring. Hopefully she'll get a wider selection of outfits that deviate from those and that aren't just schoolgirl/bikini/fetish costumes.
From the looks of things she's another noob-friendly character, which IS FUCKIN' LAME because none of the characters added with 5U are that hard to use execution-wise (except Jacky) so it would have been really nice to get a new tough nut to crack. I didn't see any combo throws/holds, which for a grappler/parry-type character is just a crying shame. Again, 5U characters gave us basically jackshit in terms of combo throws and whatnot (except Leon, I love you, Leon). Wish TN would give us more variety with the new stuff.
For being a "speed" character she doesn't look that fast. He strings look decently telegraphed... I dunno. She looks more like a Brad Wong/Hayabusa trickster character than a rushdown offense.
TN not even saying whether she will come over to consoles/the West at all or not is just lame. I know I'm saying lame a lot, but that's because there is a lot of lame.

All this said, I will keep my eye on Princess Loli and any potential developments. Unless of coruse TN decides not to give her to us in which case... eughadanflka.

Also, she's 18? Yeah, sure. lol(i)

Marie is NOT noob friendly...
- her special sidestep hop (although a low crush and most likely unthrowable) is vulnerable to every high and mid tracking move you can think of, meaning.. even characters that arent good at punishing say christie, zack, hayate and brad have better odds against her. Also, the hop itself is slow and she can only follow up after she lands.

- Sabaki happens mid string.. and if it were as easy to pull off as you say then we'd have more Leifang players .. but we dont.

- in terms of safety .. from what the frame data shows, she has NO +ve on block moves (apart from fully charged PB most likely which is not listed)

- She has advanced holds, the average player will most likely only be able to pull off the MID P/K variants only.. and probably by accident. lol

- her speed is average at most (i10 High/i12 Mid/i14 Low), add to it the lack of frame advantage and you'll see that she is not very fast as you think.

- yes she has sitdown stuns .. everyone does .. are they good ? or useless like eliot's ones? dunno yet

- yes she has a limbo.. can the average player land it with the correct stance orientation every time? I'd like to see that...

- her move list is extremely limited in comparison to the rest of the cast and she doesnt have a midstring nasty OH like say Mila which can be spammable... this limits her greatly and makes her very easy to punish if used by a beginner. you really need to be creative to make her mixup effective.

- the guaranteed followup from mid K hold (not sure if norm or advanced) puts the opponent in a backwards faint like Leifangs 64P from behind.. any Leifang player can tell you that the options are severely limited from that due to the smaller window of possible follow up and the invincible hitbox after a few frames where nothing would connect. try it yourself and you'll see.

I think learning her will require a bit of skill actually.

Her C2 is inspired by SF's Cammy.
Hayashi pointed out that the character would be easy to handle for beginners.
There will be balance changes in the Arcade version. The system makes it easier to deliver the changes as well.

What I'm particularly interested in, though, is this paragraph:
4Gamer:

But those are the minor details, what I'm particularly interested in is this paragraph:
Had to Translate:
4Gamer:
Get it. By the way, do you only work in the arcade version of Marie Rose. Popular and has come out only this, people who want to use at home for version is a multi-layer is .......
Mr. Specifications arrow early:The basic free version and consumer version of DOA5U, in the form of additional updates, I believe the form to offer to everyone.

That's great news (if it's saying what I think it's saying).

Hayashi pointed out that the character would be easy to handle for beginners.

Since when was Hayashi good at the game >__>
she may be easy in the sense that her inputs aren't difficult and are limited .. but to master? I don't think so.

I don't understand what you mean. Ayane did get a costume?

As opposed to not having the tool at all like most? 'kay.

- Sabaki happens mid string.. and if it were as easy to pull off as you say then we'd have more Leifang players .. but we dont.
I don't think the number of LF players is proportional to her sabaki gameplay difficulty at all.

- in terms of safety .. from what the frame data shows, she has NO +ve on block moves (apart from fully charged PB most likely which is not listed)
This is DOA5. Safe moves are as common as a messiah resurrecting himself.

- She has advanced holds, the average player will most likely only be able to pull off the MID P/K variants only.. and probably by accident. lol
Ryu's got the most difficult advanced holds in the game. If I can pull those off, the average player can too (and therefore Marie's as well).

- her speed is average at most (i10 High/i12 Mid/i14 Low), add to it the lack of frame advantage and you'll see that she is not very fast as you think.
I just got done saying I didn't think she's very fast. And a 12 frame mid? Hell yeah, I'll take that.

- yes she has sitdown stuns .. everyone does .. are they good ? or useless like eliot's ones? dunno yet
Not making case for or against character difficulty.

- yes she has a limbo.. can the average player land it with the correct stance orientation every time? I'd like to see that...
Again with this "average player" thing...

- her move list is extremely limited in comparison to the rest of the cast and she doesnt have a midstring nasty OH like say Mila which can be spammable... this limits her greatly and makes her very easy to punish if used by a beginner. you really need to be creative to make her mixup effective.
Rachel has a "limited moveset" and is also one of the easier characters to use. You seem to be confusing my concept of a learning curve/execution with character tiers or something.

I play Hayabusa (and Lei on occasion). I'm well aware of the difficulty in landing strikes against a BT opponent, considering I'm in that situation about 6-10 times in an average match.

I think learning her will require a bit of skill actually.

I'm unconvinced.
"Hayashi pointed out that the character would be easy to handle for beginners."
Said same about Momiji and low and behold... he was right.

Missing the point.

I was referring to the average player because that's a level higher than the NOOB-friendly you mentioned...

Momiji is good but again she has problems and is easy as hell to punish on reaction offline.. hell in most cases you can even eliminate the flying mixup before it even happens by punishing the GB kick... Online natural combos and online guaranteed situations mean nothing.

I didn't say Marie is bad .. I cant be the judge of that yet.. but saying shes noob friendly is like saying Eliot is as well.. just mash the buttons and shit will come out.. doesnt mean you'll win

Rachel... WAS noob friendly... now, I don't think so after the patch. but she's still GOOD

Again, you're talking about tiers/character effectiveness, not character learning curve/difficulty of use.

It's ironic that you edit my 'quote' to say "missing the point."

You're seeing everything in a void, as in "is mastering this character easy?" The answer to that question is: no. But that's for everyone. It's never "easy" to "master" a character. Thus, when someone is referring to a "noob-friendly" character, they are referring to a character who, in relation to the rest of the cast, falls on the easier side to learn and use effectively. For example, one such scale of that nature may look something like this:

Rachel.........Helena.........Akira

What I'm saying is that Marie Rose looks like she'll fall to the left of Helena. I wanted her rubbing cheeks with Akira.

Why people are labelling her difficulty already is beyond me... There's practically no gameplay of her, and all we've seen is location test footage, and a very minimal amount at that. Unless you have played her, it's all just speculation. So calm your farm.

And if Hayashi did state "She was easy to handle" then why is there even a discussion about this? If he's stated it himself, then we already know the answer!

Being easy to pick up is never a bad thing anyway, as long as she's not mindless, then does it really matter?

still not sure if paid DLC........

Also if she's "easy to handle" will that mean she'll be easy mode like Momiji and Rachel were? great T_T

If she is paid, she'll likely be $4 like the rest on CF.

But the siliconera article seems to hint at her being free, then again TN don't know what free is.
