Question: Why is she doing a little taunt after a bound? How is that making the character better? I can't wait to get this game man. I got a bad feeling Zack will be doing "I'm right here" after one of his bounds.
Zack's important 2kkkkk force tech is still intact, just so you know. The timing will be different, so get used to it and you'll be fine.

Oh really? RD said it was gone. It's good to know we still got it. Today will be interesting to say at least.

She doesn't do a taunt after bounds. She just does it after 4PPP and 4PPP was changed to force a bound.
oh okay. i was confuse about that.

Wasn't one of the problems from DOA 4 is that there was too much guessing in it? This looks like the same issue. It is one thing to make a read, but to pretty much do it to win set is kind of lame. but I get the today I'll do my own gameplay to breakdown this issue.
-Trust me, 5U is not going to boil down to DOA4 style guessing. The game is too far away from that!

Well pai I seen you play and you have the knowledge and history to back it up. I'm picking up the game today. So I won't go in with that mindset. Thanks man.
-No problem! DOA from the very beginning gives off the impression that its mindless guessing. A major hurdle is that the game doesn't steer you away from that, it takes the player to have the will power to move beyond that. I did....and now look, we have a Doa community where we are all enjoying right now :)

LOL if you don't know me. I play a character that is all about making you guess and confusing you.:p

-Who Ayane? Yes she is great at confusion~whiff punishment. We as competitive players need to know that our games have to be built around a solid foundation. When we do, we realize that our move selection decreases, and we use our character's most powerful tools, techniques and setups only. The end result is our play style "looking" repetitive, but in fact we are placing our opponents in a position where we are forcing him/her to respond the way we want him/her too. That is how you are supposed to play this game!

This only applies if your character actually has a good bound. There are characters that need full threshold to even have it be a bound, then as others have said with Hitomi doing her little osu after her bound. The idea was great, but it was implemented poorly.

Question, why is she playing the stun game? The character is a hard-hitting-knockback-get-you-to-the-wall-and-eat-that-damage character. Not a ha-ha-mix-up-stun character.

I am simply only referring to the bounds themselves and how they were implemented. The guy said bounds are great for avoiding the stun game. This is false if the tool is applied to a setup that requires max threshold for some characters or characters that have bounds on NH but can do nothing to take advantage of the new tool (and there are many examples of said situations making players wonder why it was changed in such a manner). It is a good tool implemented poorly. Also, your round about quote to avoid the issue at hand is quite incorrect.

-You are looking at it wrong. Launching a staggered opponent should never be a priority or goal to reach max threshold. The same effort it takes to Stagger your opponent, you can use a counter strike, and get a good bounce from bounds, which will result in a good launch+decent damage. Which results in you actually not needing to use the "stun" game. Just need to think outside of that whole stun game debacle.

Most Sit-down stuns only bound at the end of the threshold.

No, but some characters CAN'T follow up bounds or can't use bounds except at max threshold.

True but some bounds are quick enough to be used as counter hit tools. I myself abuse Eins PKK because PK is a two in one, stuns and the followup K is a bound that allows me to get 66KKK. This is 80 points of damage it's pretty quick too. I spam it until people start reacting to it. Then I start mixing it up.

I myself am a stun > launch kind of player. If you are at a wall and I get a stun, I'm picking one of my wallsplats and using that. If I get a deep stun in midscreen I'll probably extend with one poke then launch. I keep my setups short and simple so it's easier for me to monitor my mix-ups. Bounds benefit me because launch height is poor at the stun > launch level, while bounds always have a consistent followup. Some characters are ass at getting damage from bounds right now but the damage Ein gets is really sweet.

In the neutral game I'm pretty fond of playing footsies so I have habits of that sort too. I'm not the best at it but it's fun to me and would like to master that art. I like making people eat 46P for doing something stupid. It's even better when there is a wall behind them. KBDing and wave dashing is cool to me too. I also like using small stuns from sweeps and the like to set my opponent up for grabs as well as using the punch grab tactic.

But yeah. Don't let the stun game fool you into believing this game is all about stunning and going to the threshold. There are characters designed to do that but most don't thrive that way.

That's the thing, I don't know how to get better. Hence why I made a thread asking to be pointed in the right direction. No one seems to want/know how to answer.

Have you said what character you're using? People can't suggest ways on how to play the game if you don't give the character. Characters play the different part of the games differently.

Wah you got a point, but you know some play the stun game and such. But still you're right. Who is your main grape? also with Zack I'm still playing the stun game, but it's not as much since i'm much safer from before. I still need to work bounds into my games. But I have developed some nice tricks to get max juggles and start some nasty mix up.
