Their frame data mostly gives them an edge. However, within DOA's mechanics, they're quite a bit trickier to use than the DOA characters, which is why so few VF characters are seen in tourneys or Top 8.

If Jacky plays anything like Jann Lee, though, we're in for a rough first month or two. VF frames with JL's raw damage... yeesh.

You would think that, but even with 3.1 characters with frame advantage were beaten by those who did not. DOA is more about what the character is capable of, not just frame data.

Jacky will be a bag of bullshit just like his sister.
Lmao I think he will be better than Sarah. (Maybe) But to put my little two cents in this post. Momiji is going to be someone to fear. I already have set ups in my head that can make her a top tier fighter. o.0 But in my opinion.. the people that will be the best newcomer will be...

1. Momiji :momiji:
2. Jacky:jacky:
3. Rachel:rachel:
4. Ein:ein:
5. Leon:leon:

Now, let me break it down for you...
I already explained why Momiji can be good/cheap. If you want me to break it down even further for her, let me know.

But I chose Jacky as number 2 because he is a VF character. And all of the VF have something up their sleeves. He is quick and like the other VF characters, his moves will not be as familiar to players since he hasn't been in the DOA series. Let me mention his "sit-up" stun that he has. ;)

Rachel. Hm The air throws that she has gives her advantage. Not only does the air grab bounce, it also does a fair amount of damage to her opponent. But she is a slow character and I might just only use her against Leon or Bass (heavyweights).

Ein he won't be to hard to beat. He is like a Hitomi but as a male. He does have different moves then her but they fight the same to me. All you have to worry about is his 33T. Dodge that, and you'll be fine.

And Leon.. I haven't seen any good Leons in 4 so I'm not really tripping off of him. Bayman has always been better to me so uhh yeah. Hahaha

That is my little analysis on the newcomers! MOMIJI FTW! ;)

Jacky has VF factor on his side so hes automatic top tier unless TN severely nerfs him which is unlikely.

Momiji is a ninja so at worst she'd be mid tier but has a chance to be near the top depending how useful her double jump stances pan out. her speed looks far slower than the other female ninjas though so who knows.

Rachel has nicole's arsenal on her side and if shes retains all of their properties then she'll be a force to be reckoned with especially with the new stuff she has like a ground bounce air throw

As for Leon he'll most likely be upper mid at best lower mid tier at worst. He essentially looks to play the same from the few amount of videos i've seen but it looks like he has more launchers and can air throw much easier like back in DOA3. being able to aim where he throws seems like a big plus not to mention his high damage output

Ein looks to be the worst of the bunch imo, it seems once again he'll get nothing new and just get tweaks to his already existing moves(for better or worse) he had over 10 years ago back in DOA2 so players have nothing new to worry about from him. Hitomi pretty much can do everything he does with the added benefit of parries, faster speed, and better mixups.

As an Ein player, I have to say, you couldn't be more wrong. Particularly on the Hitomi front but you said the same to you so I guess I can leave that alone. 33T is definitely a scary tool but if they do him up right with the new 5 and 5U mechanics there'll be a lot more than just that you'll have to worry about.

Ein's a very simple character. I don't see them giving him a lot of new stuff so his placing will be dependent on his move properties. It would be very easy to make him broken or bottom tier depending on what's safe, what's advantage, what sits down, what bounds.

- 8P Being a SDS that guarantees launch/CB
- KK being a SDS
- 8K being unholdable.
- 3P still being safe or becoming 12 frames
- 46K still being +5
- 2P still being +1 on NH
- 3K Sitting down on opponents in crouching status
- His strings not all still being unsafe like in 4

Then there are whatever new guard breaks an frametraps he gets. He could potentially be a monster... or he could be 1.00 - 1.02 Hayate. It all really just depends. Right now he's looking like the latter which is not good. But we still know basically nothing about him yet.

Just face it, Ein is going to get owned! LOL

Zeo how dare you? Talk to the famous one... We all know what I can do with any character and my Ein might even be better than yours so take that to Ultimate. bijjj LOL

I'm seriously doubting that. This isn't DOA4 anymore good sir. I'm not the old Ein player you remember. Things will be very different this time around, look forward to it. ;)
