In DOA3 and DOAD, for some reason Hitomi's black tank top had yellow laces while at the same time she wears an actual black tank top with pink laces. Is there some kind of continuity inconsistency going on? After 3, she stopped wearing it for some reason. It would be neat to see Hitomi wearing a black tank top with yellow laces though.

Perhaps she just changed her shirt and wore a slightly different color as people often do.

In the world of examining fighting game character models, I can consider this a goof that manages to spawn a headcanon for her. Either they tried to implement the same design from DOA 3 and ran into trouble or thought that it would be too distracting/impossible to run on the 360 and had to change it.

Correct. They have the same logo on them, indicating they're from the same clothing brand. So, at least she's consistent.
