To me the music works. It's possible that after donloading the patch, the game (or the console) needs to be off and on again to fix this problem (at least some users say that have fixed the issue in this way, personally for me it's always worked.

Just for having the certainty, I tried again the stage in Versus, Sparring and Lobby just few seconds ago, and I hear the music without problems.
