Honoka is not bottom tier. She requires good fighting game fundamentals. No one will have success with her without that. Ayane is top tier but requires the same thing. Certain characters NEED fundamentals to be played well.

Wait wait wait, when I left this game (more or less) Honoka was still fairly new and everyone was saying this chick was the new top-high tier queen and I come back and see people saying she's bottom tier? What happened here?

She doesn't have quick gimmicks like Marie, or an easy learn curve. Folks also think her having short range makes her bad, even though her walk speed is in the best in the game.

She has good throws, strong wall game, good mix up, good frame advantage, fast strike speed, great walk speed and very good damage. Developing good fighting game fundamentals make her rewarding. But no one realizes that.

And the only reason why people thought she was top tier is because she has other characters moves lol.

Nah she's not bottom tier. She's better than Phase and Eliot etc. in my opinion.

I'd say just keep maining her. If you like a character you should play the character.

Yes she has her pros. But everyone else has better pros overall. Take Honoka online for a day. Trust me. It will change your mind about how "good" she is. You will find yourself constantly in uphill battles against every char regardless of that player's skill. You will find yourself constantly outclassed in damage, speed, and range and struggling to get in to even begin building momentum because your opponents just

have better options than you in nearly every situation. Obviously it is possible to win with her. But you have to take bigger risks for far less reward compared to other chars, and it often results in you losing too much life by the time you finally start to make a dent in your opponent's life. Based on what I experienced in actual fights, I agree with the Japanese tier list that she is at the bottom. (the only char

lower on their list is Alpha) But I still love her and I'm gonna stick with her throughout LR. Her low-tierness actually makes me like her more because I can feel more accomplished when I do win with her. But it doesn't matter either way cause she's gonna get buffed like crazy in 1.04. The only question is... is this gonna be Viola all over again? (bottom tier char that got buffed to god tier)

I made a Honoka tutorial and pretty much set the pace for this character among the top players. And have some of the best tech with this character. I know what she's capable of. She's not a bottom tier character. Mid tier at best.

The japanese tier list also clearly shows what characters are played more than others. Thus Honoka at the bottom because she's not played a lot compared to Hayate. Which is the only reason he's at the top.
