Everyone has an ego. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot.
To the average player, rank offers 'milestones' of sorts to reach. There is nothing wrong with it intrinsically. Now, if one assumes that the higher the rank, the better the player, then there is an issue.
@His Reverence quite right, you do make a good point.
Milestones motivates players to keep playing.
but thinking that a higher rank means your a better player is not to true, seeing how people with F ranks beat U's are evident of that.
Exactly. I still remember times when I reached B or A ranks, how satisfied I was. It had meaning, back when I was just an average player who didn't know much about the game.
Exactly... my friend. Ranks are insanely pointless. It's not even really a milestone. You can decline whatever fight you think you may lose in rank and just fight scrubs with a win streak bonus...
I have an Xbox version of DoA5U, and until yesterday, I can't see them in the selector for finding rank matches or creatling lobbies. Now are they included in the game?
I don't really understand the logic behind this either. In fact, I'm still not overly used to the idea of playing online but I do so to keep learning stuff -
TN wants to keep people playing DOA5U Online and Ranked because they want to take advantage of the fact that some people actually think the ranks validate their "skillz", and thus their right to overkill and taunt your corpse.
You're right, everyone has a ego, right? The problem is, some people gained the right to have an ego. There are TOO many online warriors who cock fight all the time over "rank", or generally how "well" they play "online. You don't see this problem with SF, or other fighters as bad as you do with DOA.
Under normal circumstances who gives a shit, right? With the DOA community, nothing is a "normal" circumstances, when your community so small, and your own players keep shitting on it., and the lack of respect it has. Let's give it's players more of a reason to shit on each other. Oh well.
