Yeah at this point everyone should brace for the worst. Reminds me of the game's PC launch, when TN wouldn't confirm which version it was based on until just before it came out. You can also compare all this to Marie's launch, where they hyped her up something fierce since they actually put effort into her.

I'm not, TN's DOA games are all I care about from KT, nothing else. They can go out of business and my only concern is what happens to the series...
Its probably the reason why I'm neutral over this new girl; she's going to be playable so I'm curious but since she's from a franchise I've never played, I'm not particularly excited.

As scummy as Capcom can be I really don't think anyone gives a rat's @ss about this new character...
Besides it's not like it's a complete secret anyways you can watch SW vids to get a rough idea of what her moveset will look like (similar to how they transitioned Momiji and Rachel to DOA).

Naotora is more melee and is a kick-mania. Which in this case, fits DOA more.
And if you wanna talk about playstyle, try Samurai Warriors first. You'll see more reason why Naotora is chosen other than having round boobs as reasoning.
Warriors/Musou veterans would know that Samurai Warriors fighting system has more depth and more purpose than DW. The only DW that has meaningful fighting system was Multi Raid/Strikeforce and people were complaining because it's too hard and complex.
If you wanna talk about personality, Lu Lingqi, Guan Yinping, and Naotora are all retarded boring morons with two of them being overly proud of their daddy and the other has I'm-sorry syndrome.
And please, TN don't revolve around FSD and western audience. Hate them all you want, but they priorities their fellow countrymen first, just like any other developer/publisher out there.
