[template=doa3-character-select]selected=ryu-hayabusa[/template] [template=text-box-h2]title=Story | align=left[/template] Ryu, the modern super ninja, is the best friend of Kasumi's brother, Hayate. In the last tournament he successfully brought down Bankotsu-bo - the feared Tengu of Destruction - who had brought chaos to the whole world. But before he allows himself to relax in a new era of relative peace, Ryu Hayabusa must enter the tournament again, this time to save the world from Genra, an evil being created by the DOATEC. [template=text-box-h2]title=Gameplay | align=left[/template] [URL='https://www.freestepdodge.com/wiki/frame-data-doa3-hayabusa/']Movelist and frame data[/URL] Ryu Hayabusa is a versatile character with access to strong strikes, holds and throws. Hayabusa's very evasive :3::P+K: is one of the best moves in his toolkit, able to evade many attacks. Even if blocked or whiffed, his opponents still have to watch out for the :3::P+K::K: follow-up, which can make it a very tricky move to punish. Other evasive moves in his toolkit include :3::P:, Rising :4::K:, :7::K: and :4::P+K:. Some of Ryu's moves will put him into his Handstand Stance, which is excellent for offense. Opponents will have to guess whether he's going to do a fast high (:K:), an evasive mid (:P+K:), or a throw. The stance is also relatively low risk because, should the opponent manage to hit him during it, he will fall to the ground instead of entering a stun. All of Hayabusa's punch holds lets him do his high-damage izuna hold combo, which makes him a great pick against characters whose offense relies heavily on punches. Similarly, his :426::F+P: izuna throw combo does high amounts of damage and, unlike most throw combos, cannot be broken free from, making him able to dish out high amounts of throw-punishment damage. Hayabusa is also able to easily avoid his enemies's wake-up kicks by jumping over them with either :9::P: or :8::F+P:.
