    An arcade-exclusive title as the final release of the Dead or Alive 1 series. The game was titled ++ due to it being the first instance for the series to be coded in the C++ programming language. The JAMMA board runs on the ZN-1 architecture, based on the Sony PlayStation capabilities. While the game looks similar graphically to that of the Dead or Alive PlayStation console release, the game system and gameplay are unique to this version. The SEGA Model 2 hardware running the original Dead or Alive arcade game is more powerful than the ZN-1 system. Consequently, this game uses 3D arenas surrounded by 2D backdrops on an infinite plane, where the Model 2 version used completely 3D environments with a limited ring space.

    There is an option to set the game's language between English or Japanese in the service menu. However, setting the language to Japanese will only alter the character information data on the Character Select screen to render in the language. The only other difference between the two languages is that the text-based character endings upon completing the game will only render if the Japanese language is selected. There is no translations provided in the game for the endings to be in English, and as such, the endings are completely skipped.

    Title: Dead or Alive++
    System: CAPCOM Sony ZN-1 Arcade JAMMA board
    Release: October 16, 1998 [JAPAN]; UNKNOWN [US];
    Display: 640x480, 60Hz

    Unlock Raidou
    Complete Tournament mode as Kasumi. Then, on the Name Entry screen, enter the name SIAWASE? and Raidou will now appear selectable on the Character Select screen.

    BURST Mode
    BURST mode will make the entire floor a danger zone. To play with BURST mode enabled, press and hold down all three buttons (:H+P+K:) before pressing the START button on the title screen.

    ENDLESS Mode
    Endless mode is the closest thing to a training mode supported in the game. It can be enabled under Game Options in the game's Test menu via the test button. After selecting a character, the player will be against a randomly assigned opponent unless the second player has selected a character. The timer will never tick down, and life is replenished once a combo ends. You are also unable to enter BURST mode while Endless mode is enabled. Pressing the START button will frame pause the game.
