Eliot was born in England but at a young age moved to China. There he was picked up to be Gen Fu's apprentice and learn the art of Xing Yi Quan. Eliot many times wonders as to why Gen Fu picked him to be his successor but carries on to prove himself to his master. Eliot decides that the best way to prove his worthiness is by entereing the 4th DOA tournament.
In the tournament Eliot meet and was befriended by Brad Wong who understood Eliot's feelings towards his master. Brad encourages Eliot to think better of himself and to value hsi master's teachings. Eliot later in the tournament encounters Christie and is belittled by him after his comments about fighting women. After the tournament ended Eliot returned to his Master and had another duel. Though Gen Fu showed little emotion, he was proud of Eliot defeating him.

Eliot only has any connections with Gen Fu. It is unknown when Eliot started his training under Gen Fu's tutelage. From the start of his training Eliot as always looked up to Gen Fu as his mentor and somehwhat of a father figure and strives to do his best to make Gen Fu proud.
