  • turns out the VF5REVO is NOT just a straight up re-release, it will include a balance patch (first one in 13 years!), certain gameplay aspects will be modified to be easier (no specifics given), and the possible return of some classic moves (Wolf Stunner making a comeback?)

this makes VF5REVO way more interesting now

the re-balancing is probably the most interesting part for me, because it will give us the biggest indicator as to what VF6's balancing will look like, can't wait!
Here I was thinking that DOA2 was the game with the highest amount of dead launchers (ie launchers with too much recovery that make it impossible to follow up) but then I remembered that tag mode exists, where you can effectively cancel a move's bad recovery with a well timed tag in, opening the door for all kinds of interactions, my mind is blown
"Damn America, that's how y'all really feel?" my reaction the election results :/ 'bout to be a real annoying 4 years, but we'll survive

Right? Many of them have been deceived with algorithm and have no knowledge of the serious consequences that will come voting for a convicted felon. United States as a country is a joke again... ¡¡Me cago en todo lo que se menea!! (facepalm)
man, how do you fumble a fighting game franchise so hard that it turns into a dating sim? Even DOA4 didn't manage to mess things up that bad

I just really hope TN's takeaway from DOA6 isn't "gee It seems like ppl just aren't into fighting games like they used to be" DOA6 was a game that lacked vision, direction, and effort, so of course it wasn't gonna sell, Hopefully one day the desire to make a decent DOA follow up will light up in someone (doesn't even need to be TN at this point), and i'll be there for it, until then i'll be in the corner lamenting

NGL, I would've ate this up if Christie was in the game.

Still, not seeing a new DOA fighting game can be frustrating sometimes. But it gives me time to appreciate what I do have and the friends I made a long the way, both old and new.

and if my favorite characters Ein, Gen Fu, and Bankotsubo were in this game i'd probably eat it up as well
saw a Cybertruck irl for the first time today, that shit is even uglier in person :/
PGR x Devl May Cry? sounds like a match made in heaven, since PGR's combat has been likened to DmC ever since its inception and the official DmC mobile game is actually terrible, so it's time for the true DmC mobile experience! or you could just play proper DmC... either way I'm excited

Not to mention that PGR has some stickers directly referencing DMC, with one of them being the plastic chair meme. They seem to have collabs with characters/IPs/animes that they used as inspiration for their game and its characters so far. Also, fyi, this announcement was part of the 5th anni stream, for the global server that'll come a year later, that server's only going to reach the 4th anni patch next patch.
Riot selling 500$ skins for LoL was diabolical, but them holding a skin behind a gacha paywall might be even more diabolical :/

because when a regular person sees a skin for 500$, they'll be like "yeah i'm not buying that, it's too much money", but whe the same person sees a skin that they COULD get for a reasonable price if they get lucky, that's a gamble most people are willing to take, then you pile on FOMO and sunk cost fallacy and the gacha ends up being a way more insidious than a 500$ price tag
I always forget that Jann Lee and Leon have a special interaction in DOA3, but then again DOA3 was the king of unexpected characters interactions, and it was awesome

They're on top of a mountain and Leon tells Jann Lee he's surprised that he (Jann Lee) made it this far, Jann Lee retorts with "strength will always prevail, as you will soon see", then Leon just laughs at him and claims that "I'm the strongest there is!"

short and sweet interaction but what always gets me is that Leon casually refers to Jann Lee by name in this scene, like they're familiar with each or something, I don't recall these 2 ever meeting before but this is the 2nd tournament where the 2 of them have participated in so who knows

that or maybe the translator just fucked up lol

Yeah, I miss these types of things. I cherish the DOA interactions above other fighting games no doubt.
According to a recent law in California, Steam has to be explicit about the fact that you don't actually own Steam games, you're just temporarily accessing them on a server

I always thought this was common knowledge and the main reason why digital game ownership is iffy, though I don't think this'll impact Steam too much, but we'll see

Maybe if more people realize it then it'll increase demand for physical releases. Like how there's been a resurgence of cassettes & vinyl when it comes to music. But that might be a bad thing since it seems LRG has been monopolizing that market these days and rather than fill demand they'd rather make artificial scarcity...

Good that California law is doing this, but yeah, don't underestimate how much people think that they "own" digital games. I've always been pretty anti-digital game since gen. 7 onwards because I knew that it puts way too much ownership power in the hands of the publishers & distributors. I'm still pro-physical media and buy on disc when possible. Selling, trading and purchasing used games are invaluable perks.
gonna be gaming like it's 2005 in the year 2025 with all these remasters and remakes coming out :/ Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Legacy of Kain, Lunar, Tomb Raider, Suikoden, shit's crazy
    Holy Cow this is real
Angel of Darkness AND Chronicles remasters in 2025, that is wild

oh wow, i didn't even know they were making a TV show, depending on which canon they're going with I might check it out

but yeah this is great for old farts who like old Tomb Raider but my question is what's next? after remaking these games all they have left are Legends, Anniversary, Underworld, and then modern Tomb Raider, which aren't really remaster material
    Camel with 2 thumbs

so either these remasters are just a one off OR they're planning a proper Tomb Raider 7 that just ignores everything after Legends and continues the story from Angel of Darkness that plays like classic but is a new story, that I would 100% be down with, it's a longshot but hey a man can dream

There's still the 2 GBC games and the GBA game, which I've read are good.

As for the show, it looks like they're actually trying to merge the two timelines... lol. I knew it wouldn't work for me. It's Survivor Lara but they give her the dual pistols and throw in supernatural stuff. Survivor Lara can't become Classic Lara, it's not realistically possible.
bought Onechanbara Origins during Steam sale thinking it was just gonna be some cheesecake fanservice anime fun, friggin first boss in the game was actually beating my ass and had me quitting to main menu, humbled me real quick lol
