    Oshi No Ko, an unexpectedly great anime revolving around the darker aspects of being a Japanese celebrity, solid concept

    so why the hell it feels the need to tack on a story about a 30 year man who's in love with 2 underage girls is beyond me :/ I know these weebs need a protag they can relate to but come on...

    I've never seen the anime myself but the opening theme slaps hard. This song was literally playing in EVERY shop I went to in Japan. Its pretty addicting lol. Downloaded to my phone when I got home.

    Smoke is back in MK, I wanna be excited but I have so much ptsd from fighting him in MK9 that my hype is greatly tempered, but hey Rain is also back and he's already looking like the Ceterion of MK1, which may give me a reason to play him, and of course Scorpian is back, wether he's a vortex or neutral character is yet to be seen

    Kudos to Sonic Team for all the free QoL and content updates they've been releasing for Frontiers, but it really does make vanilla Frontiers feel like a 60$ beta that's slowly getting patched to completion, but then again that's most games these days so I guess I can't get too mad :/

    The norm these days is that games are released in a unpolished to mostly polished state where it'd be a surprise to not have a day 1 patch right after their releases. Content-wise however, there are things that the developers would like to put into the base game and they can only do it after the game's release.

    Plus they end up making so much more afterwards in order to give people reason to buy the game and for old players to return to the game.

    base Frontiers always felt like an unpolished gem, a fun game with obvious problems and oversights, and while im not complaining about it being fixed up and getting more content for free, between this and Origins all this tells me is that in future never buy Sonic games at launch, give it 6 months to a year and it'll inevitably get all the updates it should of released with lol

    FF fans, help me out here, so every1's losing their minds over FF16 because "it's the first mainline FF game to not have turn based combat!" but even with my limited FF knowledge I'm calling bs on that statement

    Any whining on FFXVI is rooted in the typical fallacy notion of: "you've stopped catering to my nostalgic needs, so now your game is bad", or TL;DR: "change bad; old good". It's maddening.

    Man, Kitana was such garbage in the MK1 stress test, slow buttons, some phenomenally useless specials, girl just feels incomplete (as opposed to Lui Kang and Sub who feel amazing, even without kameos), but it's a stress test, hopefully things change for her b4 launch

    Now that my job's in the off season, for the next 10 weeks I can actually devote my free time to gaming! now it's just a question of what to play...

    Tears of the Kingdom still looks fire, but I still have some backburner games I shoulda finished by now, will probably just plow through those so I can enjoy some TotK guilt free, then properly play some SF6 and MK1 when I can

    really do have to give SF6 props for being a modern fighter that rewards aggression; so many fg's these days are designed to give the loser a fighting chance to come back so hopefully SF6 is sign that we're slowly moving out of that phase

    then again, SF5 was also geared towards aggression but the reward for being aggresive was so lopsided that it made the game unfun, whereas SF6 is much more balanced in that aspect; it still rewards being offensive but if you're forced to block it's not the end of the world

    The corner in SF6 is brutal goodness gracious, if you're not getting drive impacted and losing half your life your ass is getting thrown 3-4 times in a row cause you're scared of getting drive impacted, what a vicious cycle

    so some MK1 frame data leaked and it looks like low pokes will be punishable on block, which has ppl upset, but why tho?

    if this was MK9/Injustice 1 days where you could get full combo punished for getting your pokes blocked I could sympathize, but MK1 is a modern NRS title, the most guaranteed dmg your getting on a blocked low poke is another low poke in return, also low poke combo into special hasn't been a thing since MKX and they don't make 6 frame launching specials no more, mf's need to chill lol

    So glad MK1 got rid of variations and enviormental interactables, keep that sh!t in Injustice. A change im less stoked about was the decision to get rid of wavedashing and dash cancels, r.i.p swaggy movement

    some MK1 changes that weren't in the gameplay trailer; traditional 3 bar meter is back ala MKX/MK9, and the fatal blow mechanic from MK11 is returning, whether it'll work exactly like it did in MK11 has yet to be seen

    few thoughts, hate to be a party pooper, but the game looks like it runs at the same speed as MK11 (maybe it's slowed down for promotional purposes, but we'll have to wait and see), but the combos looks way more dynamic and interesting than anything MK11 had to offer, so that's cool, also my boy Stryker is back!
