    I'ma say this as simple as it gets: You disagree w/ someone's tier list or nerf buff list or who has the best hair list and you don't want to engage in good dialogue: MAKE YOUR OWN. It's opinions at the end of the day. And you can always engage w/ someone and gain different perspectives on aspects of a game, even if you disagree.

    I guess I can answer this from a Tekken and DOA perspective. I don't know Ingrid much so I'm not gonna really talk on her but here we go: Did characters like Lucky Chloe and Marie/Honoka ruin fighting games. From this video:

    packed w/ the worst theme song I ever listened to and a wonky fighting style that just screams bootleg Combot. Kula I didn't really like (though she's KOF so she gets a pass for that regard. I still wish for Geese more than either Mai or Kula). And MR has a decent theme, but her design still doesn't do it for me. How they impact the story? Well the story was a mess anyways, arguably the worst in any FG.

    They definitely contribute to it w/ that dora the explorer adventure they were having. And NiCO just doesn't strike me as a serious threat. She still strikes me as a spoiled brat. And lastly gameplay. And I just feel all are boring to play as and boring to play against as all four to me just continue the pushed agenda of mashy wonky playstyles that a lot of characters have in these games, which attributes to ...

    bad design. I probably should've made a forum of this. But overall, considering these things for myself, do they initially ruin DOA? Not really. But do they contribute to the issues within DOA that contribute to ruining the FG? Absolutely. Especially w/ DOAX being more prioritized than the FG all together.

    When you play a set for hours and still feel like you're adapting and learning, and after the set you want to learn your characters more, that's how you know it's a good set. That's the kind of gameplay I've been looking 4, for months w/ Tekken.

    I do have a perspective on this, and maybe I'll think through it more as time goes on. But I feel this is an interesting topic, considering I see "Carried" and such being thrown around a lot.

    to discuss what changes can help grow the game and what kind of balancing, one's looking for. It's not on the player at that point because if you're playing a game that's already inherently unbalanced and already carries based off the mechanics that's in the game already, then you should look for whatever gives you the best opportunity to not only win at high level situations but to enjoy the game also.

    The only time we should really push a "Carried" kind of situation is in case of hackers who for example have in game frame data during a match, or if they used a hacked version of a character, or have autoblock, or one win promotions, etc. And to top it all off, no one is forcing anyone to have to play honest, honor characters. Outside of DLC, people have the same access to these characters as well.

    The only thing I disagree w/ in the other video is that casuals is the main lifeline because I feel at the end of it all, a casual can pick something up and then drop it in a few months w/o witnessing the best of something. Watching like a world tour finals will always be more motivating to play than watching casual play, w/ the exception of a select few people.

    In MvC an Iron man BnB is 100 hits and involves multiple instances of launchers, wallsplats, spikes, rejumps, fly unflys, and OTG hits

    In NRS's Marvel game an Iron man BnB will be a dialed in string that you cancel into special and that'll be it, rinse wash repeat

    I think we all know what to think about this

    Man fighters and Sports can take some notes from Forza in terms of making long, engaging, fun, A-quality games. Horizon 4 came out in like 2018 and still has people playing.

    You know why: There isn't any crazy "pay to win cars that dominate a game", ranked is actually not bad (has one issue but not major), there's a plethora of things to do, you can actually EARN GOOD QUALITY THINGS for just PLAYING THE GAME and not waste $100 for garbage packs, Game is well optimized w/ few random frame drops, and the best reason of all: THE DEVS ACTUALLY STRIVE TO IMPROVE THE GAME.

    Game pass helps as well. But man, Forza is like a breath of fresh air for me rn. This break from online FG's and Sports games puts much into perspective on how you have good, on the money games that whether casually or competitively you can enjoy vs tekken where no matter what, there's new issues and frustrations and 2k, pay to win but still have same issues from 2k14...

    Idk why people are up in arms about the MK tourney. That's what happens when you have garbage balancing in FG's and trash defensive mechanics. Shii Leroy Japan should've been the huge red flag for FG's but nope.

    If I was mad at anyone, it's the devs cause at the end of the day, people complained about some of those balances and the bad anti-airs for a hot minute. Now that that joint won $$$ and watching stomp being used for 95% of the match and it being successful isn't appealing to the eye, now it's being looked at. GTFOH.

    TitaniumTigerz is the player you're thinking about, although it's funny, after Sheeva stomping his way to Top 8 he then took Shao Khan, who is considered a bottom 3 character, to top 8 in his next tournament run, so props to him for exposing both NRS and the communities' idea towards character strength

    but yeah Sheeva ruins the game at a casual and profession level

    I love how Rig as an i10 has a -2 on hit jab and i13 mid but damn near every i9 character gets an i11 mid and a -1 on hit jab and because their 2p's are 0 on hit, I just gotta hold the situation regardless...

    And this isn't just for Rig. I play Hayate, same situation, jab +2 on CH, I think to myself, Ok I have an i12 mid, I just jab NiCO on CH, my mid being i10 should win right? No. I can only do another jab cause if not, NiCO jabs me out on CH, i10 mid, stun, guess wrong, die... Like the frames make no sense vs i9's... Like how I make the right read and am still wrong????

    I'm not discussing vs other i10's and such. I can play the game. But vs i9's, it makes no sense when the majority of i9's got -2 or -3 jabs w/ i11 mids and neutral 2p's vs a -2 i10 jab or (or i11 if I'm Raidou) and i12-i13 mid (Unless u Jann). Only Kula got a -6 jab but then she kills WUK's w/ a neutral on block or + one at tip range 6h+k, and yet again, I have no resolution for those situations in neutral.

    And to top it all off, I get hit against an i9 in a map like Chinese Festival (which isn't hard as they're much at advantage and my defensive options reek) and I mind as well put the controller down. It makes no sense and it's just mind-boggling to think that my best option is really to make hard reads and hope for the best against an i9. It's a recipe for disaster. Like option selecting is awful in FG's.

    I get the small community stuff and that's good. But at the end of the day, that should happen regardless of the game. Especially w/ your own scene, there being no offline (Outside this WePlay going on), and online being bad for majority of fighters. But that's just me. And outside FSD, forums don't benefit me much, especially w/ Tekken Zaibatsu done... It's whatever though.

    @Project Bokuho that's what I thought at first but considering PS5's are rarer than bigfoot sightings right now and will be even rarer due to chip shortages, maybe releasing exclusively on PS4 isn't the worst idea

    Next doa game should have meter and meter gets spent every time you move. block 1/4 bar. backdash 1 bar. Break blow requires no meter and sabaki's highs mids and lows. And Misaki w/ fiona should be the main character. New Villain: alpha 153.

    Tekken's lab's so great that I can lab Bryan's dumb hatchet kick that's steppable to your left and still get clipped by it cause why not... You can lab so well that you can win the neutral game 100% of the time and still lose cause of armor, RA, RD, and random CH launchers... You can lab duckable strings and online w/ RANDOM FRAME DROPS, EVERYTHING's SAFE ON WHIFF... THIS GAME IS HORRIBLE TO LAB.

    PC yeah. The thing that I'm most angry at, besides my awful tournament records, is that the game isn't bad. This is a solid game. But as a Tekken game it's just tedious to play through and getting frustrated for 4 seasons while the devs do nothing and the base act like the game's "hype" w/ minimal flaws is just draining for me. At the end of the day if you enjoy T7, that's great and if anyone....

    Want's Tekken games or help, I'm always down. But this competitive fire and zeal and passion to lab and stuff died because this just isn't a good Tekken game to try and improve and learn in and as not only a competitor but as a consumer, I should expect better. I played through better so it's not impossible and I'm not gonna be complacent and say this games "hype" or "good ass tekken" when it isn't.

    In lighter talks, after a week of online torment in Tekken, I will say that the Etokki Omni is a very good stick. The bat top is a better grip for me, the circle gate feels smooth for the most part, and executing some stuff feels much better.

    The only true complaint I have is that there is no audio jack, at least one that I know of. It would be good to have an audio jack so that I don't have to either plug onto the PC or hear it raw from the TV or monitor. Also my mouse and keyboard is improving. I'm not getting cursed out in shooters much as of late.

    The more I try to lab Lidia, the more it reminds me that Tekken 7 has a terrible way of labbing and learning MU's. It's basically go online, die, and hope you're not raging in order to analyze and rinse repeat.

    Playing online is no better. Again, no one plays to learn or get better. Nobody even stays for sets when I finally find someone that doesn't want to just do combo 7 and not adapt after that. Either you get trolled, 1 n doned, Lose-quit or random'd out. And again, for example, learning a Hwo MU w/ Speedkicks vs Uchihaman549 much of the time will yield different results.

    The game is a grind yes. FG's in general are a grind. But it's a grind for the wrong reasons again. It's one thing if all you get is high level players that WANT to help you improve and want to continue playing you so that people grow together. It's another to play randoms that just do whatever 97% of the time and after you try to contest in tourneys and because you learn NOTHING from Uchihaman549, you lose.

    Training in T7's horrible overall. And this has been an issue from SEASON ONE to now. Online training's hideous to play through w/ cheaters, hacks, trolls, 1 n done, and random YOLO gameplay and sitting in training mode 24/7 does nothing for me cause unless I can perfectly simulate a tourney set against high level all the time, I'm not going nowhere w/ these awful training options.
