  • If Wuthering Waves gets themes/osts like this one then the game shall (almost) achieve its full potential, outbeating Genshin in every category possible, maybe with the exception of story.
So Rebirth of Souls did end up becoming an arena fighter. Not surprised and just a little bit disappointed but at the same time I have no issues with arena fighters and it has been more than 10 years since Bleach saw a non-gacha console/PC game so I'm down.
After months of getting (mostly) mediocre games for free for the basic subscription on Playstation, Streets of Rage 4 is going to be one of the free games this month, definitely worth picking it up.

I hardly played Streets of Rage back in the day, but ever since I bought 4, I loved it! I even played 2 on emulators and that was fun to play.

Occassionally, I stream survival runs for the game at random.

    The survival mode is crack.

@Awesmic Yeah, Survival Mode is definitely crack and unlocking the new moves for each character and their retro appearances is super fun!
Well, I hope that prices regarding games and microtransactions won't get expensive at least for a little while!
Riot comes in with League and making a good HoF Faker skin for Ahri for 250$ and double the amount for his signature alongside it probably saying something like:
"WELCOME BACK TO THE STAGE OF HISTORY"
Even though I don't like a decent amount of practices that Nintendo has when it comes to the content creators and consumers of their games, there's one thing that I have to give them credit for, sticking with the Switch and not upgrading it for years was probably the best move they ever did since the creation of the NES.

What's best about Nintendo is they let the ESRB Ratings do the works for Third Party Games without the publishers themselves telling Third Party Companies on what is or isn't allow on their consoles unlike Sony (Playstation), Microsoft (Xbox), & Valve (Steam). Which end result is we get plenty of Ecchi/Lewd content, some games with nude breast (except JP because CERO).
So what is most people's opinion on the last day of a specific game's tournament being top 6 instead of top 8? I understand that it was made this way in order to keep things running smoothly/so that they don't go overtime but personally this just makes me not want to watch the matches at all and since I don't really care much about pools/top 32 I don't think that I'll be watching too many tourney matches from now on.

The only exception for me would be if I want to steal tech from players or if I want to learn a character that I can't really get a grasp on without checking on how top players are using them.
While I dislike the idea for fully priced videogames/fighting games having battle passes and in-game currency that you can't obtain for free, the amount of money and time it takes to make videogames now (goes double for good ones) makes them a good way to keep supporting the game further with content while also getting support from people who want these items and/or really like the game.

@HHH816 To be fair though: 1. it is only a 30 second video so not a lot can be included in it.
    2. Ryu is the main character of the Ninja Gaiden games, a good 80-85% of the games' story focuses on him and his enemies andd not on the DOA characters.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
@HHH816 Heck, he'd be the only playable character in these games if it were not for the Sigma's and RE. It's like how Ryu seems powerful enough to defeat the strongest of fiends but in DOA it is mostly the other ninjas who end up making the final move/decision/action with focus on other characters as well, because he is a "guest" character like how the DOA characters are "guest" in NG.

Got a few second of sonia but no ayane, seems really sus.
Looking back at it now, it isn't really surprising that Blazblue Dark War was abandoned/discontinued early on. With the relatively big delay from early release announcement, gameplay that ultimately didn't offer THAT many new things in the market at the time, not being tied to an IP like Dragonball that would do the hard carrying and it only releasing in Japan it seemed like it was doomed to fail sooner than later.

Probably the Djeeta crossover didn't help either. Still, I really wish that some of the new characters from the game would make it into a new Blazblue fighting game, the designs are really sick and it would be a waste for them to remain tied down to a dead mobile game.
Look, I'm not saying that Shimbori called all or even most of the shots when it comes to the development of Tekken 8 from a gameplay perspective but the fact that Xiaoyu is basically Helena now is a bit sus.

Its more like Helena is Xiaoyu, since Xiaoyu came first starting at Tekken 3 (1997) who here fight style is Piguaquan & Baguazhang, and Helena wouldn't be a thing until Dead or Alive 2 (1999) who only does Piguaquan. Shimbori was brought along with Tekken 8 development, and he left Koei Tecmo with Dead or Alive 6 being the final project he was involved with.

If they introduced counter holds in tekken 8, everyone is D-E-D DEAD! XD
Project L's name is now 2XKO, which I guess isn't bad but it only looks good on paper, 2 times KO doesn't sound like a good fighting game title tbh. Game seems to have gotten a decent amount of polish and it is going to be getting it further since its coming out next year. From what the few people said who managed to try it out this game might be something that I might want to at the very least check out.

Not the biggest fan of the League of Legends IP but yeah, should be interesting to see how this game will stack up against the big dogs such as Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6.

Its probably going to have a decent playerbase due to the IP but whether it'll be good enough to reach the status that the big 3 have in the fighting game space is a questionable one, especially since its a tag fighter and those haven't been doing too well as of late.
I find it unsurprising that the Granblue team knew what to do with the battle pass to make it attractive enough for people to purchase it (hopefully these costumes will come later to the in-game shop where we can buy it with in-game currency or as a dlc costume for 4-6$) while Street Fighter has been pretty much fumbling their collabs/BP since launch. Makes me wonder if Tekken Shop in T8 will be good or not.

I’m still surprised that Narmiya has an alternate costume in GBVSR. I was like “Alternate costumes? Not recolors, but an actual alternate costume? In an Arc System Works game? Hell has frozen!” lmao

Tbf, that may have been Cygames' decision moreso than ArcSys', the same way Avatar Belial is a playable character because the dev team wanted to make a playable version of the boss, making him and also Vira be the last new releases of the vanilla game. Also, you might know this already but more costumes are coming, BP2 comes with a costume for Zeta based on her Dark SSR unit from the gacha game.
If they really don't have anything planned for Ninja Gaiden or DOA (might not have been able to say that they're working on it but who knows) then this is the first time in a long time where TN/Gust/KT won't have anything announced/coming after Rise of the Ronin that would interest me at the least, I know that some might be looking for that Fate game they're making, which is slightly surprising tbh.

I think that they don't want to say something before right time. It's not like that they are planning to do a pause in game developing, since Yasuda said in interview last year that Team Ninja wants to release new game every year
While the whole SpyXFamily collab is disappointing, I don't think that the the costume mod that happened soon after or the nude mod fiasco that happened a while ago is the main reason or even a reason why they want to get rid of mods. Iirc most of these Japanese companies are very much against mods in their videogames, hence the anti-mod drm.
    ChaolanLegacy
    ChaolanLegacy
Still, the fact that they went through with it despite potentially knowing that the company they tasked to make the drm is shady and they applied it to many of their older games is a very "interesting" decision.

And I here I thought that Tecmo Koei's DOA5LR "policing" against mods was bad enough. Now this! XD

Capcom's globalization standards was just the tip of the iceberg! My guess is other fighting game devs will follow this trend sooner or later to keep their IP relevant.
Bea is the fourth dlc character of the first season pass who'll be coming to Rising in May. Been waiting for this moment since the end of the second season pass of the vanilla game, whats 4-5 more months?

Out of curiosity, does GBVSR have a physical version? Can't seem to find it.

Iirc the game's digital only and I don't think that they announced in any shape or form that they'll be making a physical version, they can later on but I doubt that they'll do that if a year or two passes this way.
The whole costume 3 for SF6 situation reminds me on how fighting games are full priced games with not so cheap dlc or plenty of season passes. With the amount of time and money it takes to make sequels now it might be better for these companies to make their game f2p and then they can add all sorts of dlc's and season/battle passes that they want (as long as they're not overpriced).

Big Companies will make the step if the market is right, with tons of free-to-play games on Mobile, PC, & Consoles that have microtransactions along with certain titles being very popular. Some Big Companies usually don't care about what kind of backlash their business models would cause which they would go ahead anyway (like EA or Activision for example).

For DOA, that Gacha Game (aka DOAXVV) is a proper follow up from DOAX3, but a proper evolution of the DOA series (because of costumes & features), and mainly DMM Games Number 1 Game on their charts. If you weren't fan of full price games with Season Passes, you would really hate Paid Gacha which would require to have $840 (Singapore) to have a 100% chance to get certain outfits.
    Kasumi-Phase-X
    Kasumi-Phase-X
Personally if I want to see a new DOA fighting game, I would want DOA fighting game to be given the same treatment as DOAX side in terms of risque content (costumes/features) & releases (like only available in Japan/Asia) with Paid Gacha being a given (considering Paid V-Stones didn't destroy DOAXVV lifespan unlike Hair Color ended DOA6 lifespan). I don't trust KT to do another DOA fighter of any kind.
Can we even be surprised about Tekken having a really bad/uninteresting story when they revealed Panda of all characters with some build-up via social media and also with a statue at TGS, it would've been far more fitting to do this for a fan favourite character or for the leaked daughter of Heihachi.

Tekken stopped trying with its story after Tekken 4.

Think Harada mentioned that that also had negative reception (among other things) due to how dark the tone of the game was, which tbh, is enforced by the fact that Tekken 5 was different in that aspect, had a little bit of 4 and a little bit of 6 in tone but from 6 onwards a decent amount of characters either got joke endings or they didn't get any significant story development since 4/5.

Like, Xiao's been searching for Jin since 4, Steve for Nina since 5 iirc, Asuka's potential literally wasted on a Lili rivalry, even though I'm not disliking it as much as others do. Tekken 8 seems to be doing some things right in terms of story but I don't think that it'll touch the level Tekken 4 was at back in the day.
