I'm a Tekken player who also plays Dead or Alive. I started playing Dead or Alive with Dead or Alive 4 around 2012 but only casually and not often, I started playing more seriously around 2016 with Dead or Alive 5.
Tekken, Soul Calibur, and Dead or Alive are the only fighting games I ever play the most. I also play Killer Instinct once in a while. I don't play a lot of fighting games because it's too much to learn. One fighting game is overwhelming enough for me to learn.
Bloody Roar was my first fighting game, but I didn't play it a lot. I've played Tekken and Soul Calibur since the late 2000's, and Tekken being my main fighting game and Soul Calibur as my second one. I play my fighting games very seriously like I always go to the point of mastering the game's depth with fundamentals and execution skills. Though, I don't play Virtua Fighter.
I knew about Dead or Alive since the 2012 days, and I always wanted to play it because the game looks attractive and flashy, but I could never put myself into playing it enough because of the game having so much sexualization and I was still young. And Jann Lee, who is the Bruce Lee character in that game looked kinda lame to my taste. Before, I only play fighting games for the Bruce Lee characters, which is why I was critical to Jann Lee until I started to become more open with other characters as time kept going. Jacky Bryant saved me from that frustration even though he's only a guest character.
My mains: Phase 4, Momiji, Kokoro, Jacky Bryant, and Akira.
Other characters I like to play: Mila, Tina, Christie, Kasumi, Leifang, Helena, and Ryu Hayabusa.
My mains in other fighting games:
TEKKEN - Jin, Law, King, Lee, Xiaoyu, Asuka, Anna, and Lili
Soul Calibur - Yun-Seong, Hwang, Maxi, Kilik, Xianghua, Seong Mi-Na, Raphael, Amy
When it comes to the fighting games I play, I don't just play my main characters, I play like almost everyone of them. It's boring to just play my main characters and not try out everybody else.
My main characters are usually the Bruce Lee characters in their respective games such as Law, Maxi, and Jacky Bryant. But I don't main Jann Lee because he's the Bruce Lee based fighting game character I like the least.
