What do you guys rate DoA5 out of ten?

I quite like the home stages. I think that it the name of it. The stages just lack personality and I don't like how often you get the botttom tiers on random.
It seems like the stages loses its interesting art style & replay value everytime Im playing DOA5 for hours and what makes it worse is the horrible music. :(

The core of the gameplay is a major improvement compare to DOA4 but some of stuff on DOA4 is way better like the stages, music and definitely the controls (buffer system).

Yeah of course it is... but still. Something is missing, and it´s not only Ein. Maybe it´s really something like... A "soul"!? oO

That blame should lie within the dialogue heavy cutscenes and dark stages <.<
Well, the dialogue that didn't deal with the main story *Brad, Hitomi, Jann, etc* was actually pretty good. The dialogue that delt with the main story seemed like the dev's never looked at the previous DOA stories.

DOA4 was already a 9/10 imo (would be a 10/10 without the glitches and hold recovery)
This game is a 8/10 imo; but only so far! I'll wait and see what the upcomming patch will do

My initial impressions based on about 20 plus hours of game play online and offline.

Pros

*Great looking game.
*Game play is not as mash friendly.
*Best Story mode of the DOA series
* Game keeps track of all your stats on and offline.
*Having VF characters in the game.
*Animation is much improved
*Improved game A.I

Cons
*Online play is mixed bag. When its lag free its great. When it lags your screwed.
* Game tends to stutter.Usually its early and in the middle of the match I play on the PS3 version.
*Being connected online while playing offline makes offline play slightly laggy. I don't know if anyone else had noticed this. Usually when I'm not signed in on PSN offline plays much smoother than when I'm signed in.
*VF players using characters like Sarah and Pai has to work a lot harder in DOA5 than VF 5 to earn their damage.
*Random glitches. Glitchiest DOA game of all time.
*Game play is not mash friendly lol. Better animation means move execution needs to be precise.
*Improved game A.I. is telepathic when it comes to counter holds.
*IMHO the Power Blow system is not really needed. I know it was TN's way of trying to make the game accessible and give noobs a chance to pull out victories. From my experience it just adds another weapon for the really good players to beat you even worse than they did before.

Overall I give the game an 8 out of 10. Usually with DOA games they are the first games I put in my console. And play them for hours. I'm sad to say DOA 5 seems less fun and more like work when I play it offline and online. Fact is that I am an older gamer and my best fighting game playing days are behind me. Even still I find myself playing games like Mass Effect 3, Borderlands 2, and WWE 13 with my nephew and neighbors more enjoyable.

Things I liked about DOA(The stun heavy game play) now I find slightly annoying. But that's because I have been playing other fighting games since my DOA2 Ultimate and DOA 4 prime competitive days. I've been playing a lot of Tekken,SC, and VF since then.

DOA 5 just lacks polish. Its basically a reboot for the series. DOA 5 has a new graphics engine, improved animation, and an upgrade in game play. But it is still DOA at its core.

I broke the disc in half because I was in RAGE from the cheating A.I. & from the glitches that kept going over and over again. :(
Lol, I haven't really touched single player after finishing story. The only exception is after I practice a character in training mode, I would go and unlock some costumes in arcade, then just go online.

I wonder how it is when it comes to face against a professional DOA player compared to the input reading A.I.? I don't have Internet service.

Not really the dialogue as a con. In fact, I absolutely loved every bit of dialogue in the story XD
But the actual models during such scenarios look so stiff and hardly move around. In some cases, repeat the same poses as if I'm watching an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Not to that extreme, but you get the point.

On the skin, it depends on the lighting, and how much skin is showing.

But if say, you are using a character with a white shirt (Hitomi, Mila), the sweat will drench the shirt, making it see through. Fanservise aside, that is an AMAZING mechanic.

I agree, Seeing through a white T-shrit is amazing & I love it when the costumes look realistic when they're wet/dirty. :)
