Good game, Bad game Online/Offline thread

LOL same here. Chill pill, chill pill...

I'm quite calm. I'm just not going to say a match is "good" when I think it was terrible (due to the netcode). When I say "gg" it should actually have some meaning behind it.

Not everyone has the same idea of a good game as you. In fact, with your idea of a good game, I wonder why you still play online.

^This.

I have major problems with the online, but if you're so opposed to it that you can't even seem to have a single goddamn match you consider to have been a good game, get the fuck off of it already.

Exactly! "Good" is a relative term, so if I deem the matches lackluster, people should respect that.

I play because I'd like to have both of my accounts to S+ before the scene is completely dead. If the online is not satisfactory by that time, I will no longer play.

Now, if you don't like my opinion on things, feel free to "ignore" me on this forum. I won't cry about it, I promise.

Interesting view. Bear with me for a minute?
Does the S+ rank matter at this time, though? If the rankings are an indication of skill (debatable, but moving on) with the given system (which in this case is jeopardized by flawed online functionality), doesn't the grade simply represent progress made in a system that doesn't allow for "good games?" If the online is ever fixed-up nice, wouldn't you want to advance your rank then so that's more legitimately earned from "good games?" Otherwise, it's like being an S rank at card stacking (hypothetically speaking). It holds little value if you don't value the process by which you achieved it, and there's not a provided incentive of a trophy/achievement for it, either.

Online rank means nothing in terms of skill in any fighting game. I am only getting to S+ because I have nothing better to do and I don't want to feel as though my money was wasted. It also wastes a good amount of time, giving Team Ninja a chance to fix things.

You play games to "waste" time? And to think I have to MAKE time to play video games...

You are.one lucky dude.

So-so game to DrDogg. Bad netcode plus my slow internet equals really bad lag spikes. I felt like I just got lucky with some of the hits.

DOA plays unlike any other fighting game. If I stop playing completely it will take some time to get back into it. So I have to continue playing, thus why I need to "waste time" with online.

There was one point during our first match where I just started walking forward to get the match over with. I couldn't do anything, the lag was just too much. >_<

I've had something similar happen to me fighting a guy from Brazil. 90% of my inputs didn't come out. If an outside party had seen the match he would have thought I was dumb or something. A guy just getting hit and doing nothing about it.

GG to Gruff who kicked my ass again. Apparently Lisa's jump throw is an OH. Good to know for future reference.

I don't see why hers is an OH when Ryu's isn't (as he's supposedly a grappler now and his takes longer to execute, iirc). But whatever. I'll stop whining. Just gotta improve. xD

Sorry DrDogg. I can't do much about it since the only way I can get a connection on my 360 is to link it to my laptop via ethernet and AT&T's internet just sucks for how much my parents pay for internet.

ggs to my Akira training partner (who will remain anonymous) who's probably become my rival. After a shocking 68 match session that went 34/34, I can safely say there's another very dangerous Akira out there. Maybe... I should'nt have taught someone else all my tricks?

Too late now, my training continues.

No he's SUPERMAN.

*cough*

I'm simply respecting him, when I said I'd tell people about him he said he'd prefer people find out on their own.

Zeo's been training with the folks in the Nexus clan, so SweetRevenge007 (formerly 117) is the only one that comes to mind by process of elimination.

It's really not an issue for me beyond the normal lag I experience in the game, so no need to apologize. Even in the best possible online connection, the game still plays horribly from my perspective. The only difference is I probably would've played out the last few hits. No biggie.
