My prediction: they will reveal/tease DOA7 this year or a bit later and now they're are trolling us kek .
I'm not sure about actual roadmap since they have Sangokushi and NG reveals down the line
P.S. I wait for Master s comments on it, i hope that someone informed him, since it provoked much hype in community . In other way I would think that these leaks were planned by TN themselves

What's more, while I was checking Twitter about this theme I saw that big part of articles wrote only about DOA7 cancellation, not about possible nioh 3 in works or new ninja Gaiden project, that's weird, I think it would make more hype, so part of me thinks that's hype by devs. So when it will end they will reveal something big

Theres not much of anything here really.
TN Gonna do doa7 but cancelled. (Yeah, prolly)
And TN are working on new games. (Yeah, we would all assume that)
KT doesnt care about DOA (Yep, checks out)
The only thing that got me was Shimbori leaving. I didnt know that, I guess. But seems it was common knowledge when it happened, just as I quickly look back.

If only the EVO tweet mentioned “Little boys” or “Big Macs” somewhere, it might have been a little more convincing. Jokes aside, the Ronin and Ninja Gaiden tweets caught my immediate attention when I first saw them. Keep in mind that during the NG Master Collection interviews, Yasuda mentioned that he wanted to do a female led NG game and a NG zero (if I remember correctly). An NG origins game with Joe would be pretty interesting.

I meant to say "McRibs," sorry.

Has Master tweeted anything in regards to the situation? I'm interested to see what he'd have to say regarding the trolling and some of the info but he probably can't say much to begin with.

Never heard of this person or recognize the name

The only thing that the guy never belong to KT or Team Ninja, no words about the leak actually

Looks like these rumors are catching some attention:

Regardless of the validity of these tweets, I was never really hopeful for DOA7 or any rewrite of DOA6. It's a shame, really; this series has such a rich history (both in controversy and normalcy) and of course, as I sit writing this on a forum dedicated to the game, I am a massive fan of it.

I definitely see why people are upset with the state DOA6 was released in & I've been critical of the entry myself; I can't help but admit that I play DOA6 virtually daily.

The game is obviously still very profitable from XVV, so hopefully these rumors are untrue.

I have always and will always love DOA. Hopefully this rumor catching fire actually works in favor of the series.

Unfortunately, all XVV did was convince KT that fighting games are unprofitable. They see things through an incredibly limited scope.

But the scope isn't as bad as it used to be - before DOA5 they didn't think DOA was profitable at all and Shimbori was the "main pillar" as to why the series continued. Now why did those season passes actually manage to sell for nearly 100 USD a piece? Because people like the characters. Same reason as to why Venus Vacation is successful. Do I like the reason as to why DOA has seen some success? NO. But I do absolutely think that they some bullet points need to be hit to continue.

So, in some regard I definitely see how you could say that - but once again I don't think it's as bad as it used to be. Which is good since Shimbori doesn't look to be coming back.

Is it really the -characters- people like though? Really? Is DOA fiction at the level of high shakespeare?

Eh....

The story isn't necessarily prose, but it's enough to give the characters context and distinctive personalities. I'd argue that these personalities and/or backstories are fundamental to the appeal of at least a few of the characters.

Once again, I do think the company is seeing from that limited scope - but now they can at least gauge that it's profitable through something.

I'm sure plenty of companies wish they had spin off games for their fighting games, so they don't have to make fighting games as much to stay relevant since they require a lot of time and skill to make.

Not trying to talk shit about Tekken - but look at those graphics. You can't tell me they cared about that aspect of the game as much as Team NINJA despite having more resources, more money and more popularity.

Well with Tekken tho, they had the game in arcades for a while until they ported to console and by then they probably didn't want to bother touching up the graphics since the game's assets by then were 3 years old, they probably would rather wait till T8 since T7 is still doing pretty good with the content and stuff they release, although I feel they should have did a massive graphics update before they hit console since it's probably one of the weaker looking games, TTT2 imo looked better xD

DOA shows that even wirh their spin off game VV that they can make good looking characters(mainly women) and also keep the content fresh since alot of the content Venus Vacation has is way better than the DOA6 costumes we got

If we were talking about T6 or TTT2, that argument would hold weight, but T7 is graphically stronger than DOA 6 is by a landslide. That's not even an opinion or an observation made from a place of bias -- I hardly touch Tekken, but the textures simply hold a lot more detail to them. You can see individual skin flakes when Marduk is beating your ass in an outro. With DOA 6, you get to marvel at the shortcuts Team Ninja took.... like using a sticker for belly buttons, rather than actually finishing the model.

I agree their belly buttons don't look great, and sometimes an elbow looks out of place, but DOA is the king of animation in fighting games with throws alone. When I experienced Tekken the texture detail wasn't that high and not only that but the jaggies don't help it look very smooth IMO.

To Summarize:

- Better/more animation
- More moves
- Smoother combat/textures
- Bigger/Interactive stages

DOA5's textures had more detail to them in some cases than 6 sure, but DOA5 also looks better than Tekken 7. Even the Tekken fanbase admits DOA6 looks better.

Yeah, imo DOA overall has a better look, the only thing Tekken 7 has over DOA6 is the skin texture definitely since although T7 does look rougher in terms of the character models and face models, their skin texture and alot of their outfit textures and some stage lighting is far more advanced than DOA6 but granted they use Unreal Engine and I think DOA6 runs on the KT engine or something that they use for SW or DW, but even besides that DOA6 has a way better graphical look than I don't see from other 3d fighters atm, MK11 and Injustice 2 are the only FGs I can say that give DOA any competition look wise but then again they have/had a way bigger budget and they use actual people as bases for their face models so I don't really give them much credit for that since before that their facial looks were generally quite poor

DOA's animations do look smoother, and that is its advantage. The rest, however, patently false. You can appreciate the doll-like style of DOA over Tekken, but on a pure detail level Tekken exceeds what DOA produces. Doesn't help that the shitty DW9 engine has an excessive amount of bloom that washes over any detail you might have seen otherwise.

I have no idea what you mean by jaggies, though. Tekken does anti aliasing just fine unless settings get scuffed for some reason.
