You should carefully read @werewolfgold's long post on the other page, it was a pretty good one and it explained the gist of it pretty well.
I already did XD and my point still stands, we can hope but TN isn't gonna really change anything, that's why I've accepted the new character besides me liking her design, TN is focused on the Japanese audience and they're willing to milk the game a while longer as a way to feed off that. It's not gonna change unfortunately from what I and everyone else can tell

You realise people just want to speak their mind on a topic that they care for or that bothers them? That's what a forum is for. You make use of it all the time for the most trivial complaints, like hair or characters not being "thicc" enough.

And you do NOT know me or what I'm thinking, don't you ever call me shallow and act like the content I like is "insipid", I liked her because I thought she was pretty actually and happened to like her swimsuit. I'm sorry but you sometimes get a bit carried away with how venomous your replies are, that and you assume stuff about me without me ever having stated as to why I even liked her in the first place. And you're not above complaining yourself, like that one time you made that status and deathofaninja and whoever else had posted quickly jumped on it, that was quite trivial if you ask me

But, it is indeed true that they really aren't aiming for anyone except Japanese otaku with this new character, as the game isn't officially released anywhere except for Asia. And perhaps you're right that we should just take this as how it's going to be from now on. At which point, I can only wish TN luck in their future endeavors. I think they're hamstringing themselves, but maybe I'm wrong and this is the golden ticket.
...That's pretty shallow reasoning, though. You can't say shallow things and then get mad when people accuse you of being shallow. Her being pretty is definitely not a high bar and yet, in your words, you "haven't felt this excited for a new girl since Phase 4 and Naotora". What potential are you seeing exactly?

Arguments aside, I do hope Misaki is like Renka. She could also be part-Japanese, part-something else (crosses fingers for Scots)

Ok so if you see a character you're interested in in a magazine and you like their design and appearance, then that's "shallow"....so everyone here must be then, since liking their appearance and design is a part of you using said character XD
I don't care either way. Just don't make assumptions about me and call me shallow and insipid when you're not exactly squeaky clean yourself

I have to admit that I've been with the 'whatever' group. Whenever fetish costumes, or simply another female-only costume pack is released, I just roll my eyes. I'm at the point where I suppose I just don't expect things to ever change. But I know, it is not the right attitude to have. I too would like to see things change (for the better, even though that is subjective?), because I care a lot about this series. I wish DOA could be taken (more) seriously within the FGC, and not be seen as this very shallow, and over-sexualized fighting game anymore. A lot of us on here, I assume, see this game as a deep and interesting fighting game, and would like to see it being represented as such. DOA 5 was definitely a step in the right direction until...yeah...
I'd also like to add that I hope they'll work on Honoka's personality, and that in the next DOA game, she will be more interesting. Right now, she's just another typical moe character (how original), and doesn't add anything new personality-wise. I like that character because of how she plays. At first, I was unimpressed about the fact that she's a copycat character, but she ended up being more interesting and unique than I thought, and she grew on me. It'd be cool if her 'power' would be a curse or something. Maybe she could have a split-personality because of it in the next game? She could even switch between both during matches. Ah...maybe I'm just being silly, here. But I hope they will do something with her.
I also feel the same way for a few other characters, Honoka was just an example; some other characters' personalities are also kept at a shallow level. Sigh.
I'm worried that the new character will just end up not bringing anything new.
Also, I agree with the fact that the male characters should be important to the series, too. They need more love. I wish that they could've been added to DOAX3. It's a missed opportunity. It would've made the game a more interesting spin-off. I don't mind games with only female characters, at all, but that's not what DOA was meant to be...

Yeah back when It was...I actually can't remember totally? 2016 I think when every pack was a new "fetish pack" where we got the nurses, police officers etc etc. Not to mention Lisa was excluded from half of them... -_- I really wasn't a fan of those packs at all. ( I like them more now but at the time I really didn't ) Luckily though we don't get outfits like that anymore and the outfits now a days and for a while now ( imo ) mostly have been really good. And hopefully they are going to start including the men more with this season pass including the men now!
And same I wish that more people would see that doa5lr is actually a really good fighting game and not jut pass it by because of other reasons.
Honoka I didn't like...until I played doax3 since she was actually my favorite girl in that ( unless Lisa is added.
) and I learned to like her from playing that. I am hoping though that not just her but Marie and Nyo as well get a lot more development and we get to see more of their personality's when doa6 comes out and they're apart of the story mode. I'll be interested in seeing how they are like with Marie being Helena's maid and Honoka having an apparently "evil" power within her. So it could be cool to see what happens with that.

Ok, forgive me if i sound harsh, but you've made pretty clear in a bunch of posts and threads that you basically only like/dislike things based on how sexually appealing they are to you. It might not be truth, but is what you show, that nothing else besides how attractive something is to you matters. Again, it might not be the case, but is what you show. And that is pretty different from liking a design for other aspects, or liking a character for other reasons, like playstyle, background or anything else.
Back on topic, Honoka has potential, Marie has potential, even Misaki has potential, TN just needs to give its characters proper attention and development.
