Okay lol I can admit we went off the deep end there for a...moment...or two...or three but I feel it's like yeah it might go slightly off topic for a little while in between an announcement or news. But when another teaser image etc is revealed it's right back on topic so I don't really see what's that bad about it since it is a kind of natural thing that happens on a forum, right? :/ also I think it's caused from the lack of the outlet the casual thread used to be. Sorry I just had to mention the casual thread.
This whole "We want the Casual Thread back" thing is not going to work. If you want to blither insipidly about vaguely-related DOA content you can go create a tumblr blog. I was never opposed to having a Casual Thread for those types of discussions to begin with. The reason it was closed is because it became an absolute clusterfuck of unacceptable conduct, and the only options were to ban each offender or close the thread with instructions not to create another one. This thread, right here, is proof that the community hasn't learned a damn thing.
If you seriously don't understand the problem despite having it explained countless times, allow me one final attempt. Say you're not a thread regular (or perhaps, not even a forum regular) but it's been a while since you checked up on DOA's DLC so you went to investigate the latest news pertaining to its DLC releases. Naturally, you click on this thread, given its title. And do you find what you're looking for? No. You find completely random drivel spanning for pages and pages on end while the actual, relevant content gets buried beneath a mountain of irrelevant nonsense. Back when the Casual Thread was a thing, it created a similar problem. People posted all news and content there instead of in its proper place, meaning that everyone had to suffer through that whole mess of a thread or go elsewhere for their DOA news.
I fully understand that it's natural for a forum thread to go a bit off-topic at times so long as it corrects itself within a few posts. But perhaps you lost your comprehension of the English language when I just stated that I had to delete nearly
200 posts. This thread was 15 pages long. After I cut out all of the off-topic posts, it is now 5 pages long. That means that for every relevant post there were at least two posts of utter bullshit. That is not "a kind of natural thing that happens on a forum." That is a bunch of irreverent fools who can't follow simple directives.
You can't just do something you've been explicitly warned not to do and then brush it off by claiming it's only natural for people to be insolent buffoons. The Casual Thread will not resurface on FSD. If some of you truly can't come to terms with that, you can join it in the figurative graveyard.
