How is raidou not one dimensional?! His only trait is "wants go orochimaru and mega man every technique". He started as a blatant Akuma knockoff.

My problem is that even if they had depth before, as of DOA5, every character, male and female, is made one dimensional.

Leifang got hit the worst, though, holy shit. From arrogant martial arts master whose pride is hurt by being "saved" to crazy stalker fangirl. Well maybe tied for how fucked over Zack got.

Plus in doa5 since the story focused exclusively on the ninjas, they didn't even bother giving anyone else a purpose. Like what are brad and Eliot even doing? Why is hitomi just being fangs sidekick as she stalks Lee? Does hit really have nothing better to do?

All installments are related to the same base game, sorry I should have better clarified that. XD LR and Ultimate are still in the same game entry in essence.

My favorite part of the story is when Kasumi went into total bitch mode when Christie blocked her path. I was like ♡.♡ She looked like she wanted to cut her throat!

The dude's been a Legomaniac, a Power Ranger, A SOLDIER First Class, and even auditioned for voicing a Legendary Super Saiyan. You would think he'd keep that original role as Jann Lee's rival, but noooooooo... they retconned it to some bum in an oil rig who happens to know TKD, with slight sexual undertones to boot...

Because he's worthless and a clown that's why, he's basically that one hyper active kid that's clueless and just is a nuisance when he's in your presence.

The last time that happened, he was literally quoting Captain Harlock's famous line from the classic Galaxy Express 999 movie word-for-word while climbing the DOATEC Tritower.

Zack is a joke but that's not really a bad thing since the DOA cast is full of oddballs.

Expecting characterization from a character that wasn't in the vanilla game is not something smart.

They were just added in the game, Marie Rose, Honoka, Zombie Raidou, Nyotengu, there is much that can be done with those characters for they to be awesome in their own right in future installments, the same way it is possible for them to suck.

Raidou was present in the previous DOA games, we know enough about his before dead personality.

Honestly, to me, the plot of DOA 5 is bad on its main story, where there isn't development by any part from the main characters besides "ayane and kasumi are fine with each other now", and having now 2 new villain buildups (Rig and Phase 4). While the secondary characters didn't do much, but at least had good scenes and fun momments overall.

But, urgh, clone kasumi is just the worst, Hayate gets another entry where he is a jobber from beginning to end, Ryu has his "i'm the super ninja" momment, but even that is a bit underwhelming compared to other games, Ayane is the jobber's sidekick, and real Kasumi, she, just appears for the final fight. Like, no background on her living for some time in the hayabusa village, no character development shown... (and Zack actually won one against jann lee)

But this isn't the topic to talk about characters and their roles on the story (do we have one of those anyways?)

SO i guess let's talk about costumes. I'm still excited about the halloween ones, Bass looks great, i haven't mentioned that but i really like how he looks.

I just want to see what Eliot and Naotora get, if they choose my Eliot costume, I'll even probably start to use him. :-D If not then it's either the bunny costume, I don't think they'll choose cyber Eliot, that one was pretty revealing....

Out of all of the halloween costumes that i've seen, bass' halloween costume is the only one that looks good. Unfortunately I don't play as Bass.

With all this talk about the casts personalities, I think that the discussion of dlcs has once again been forgotten. Seriously, if you guys want to see the cast as multidimensional, just play doa dimensions . As of now, I do feel that all the guys are rather flat but they're guys in a doa game, that's just how it is. Meanwhile, i see Marie as the only flat girl with the rest, even the guests as fairly well rounded.

And just to bring the discussion back to dlc costumes; seeing the concept for Tina's sailor outfit and remembering that Eliot got one before almost makes me wonder if TN would ever consider doing a gender swap costume pack...
