What are black bar outfits ?

Since DOA5LR is coming after Valentine's Day, they will miss the "perfect" opportunity of a "Waifu Pack" with sexy bride costumes.

I'm ashamed to say that, but if the costumes are nice enough and the textures good, I'd be okay with such a pack. I can already see their catchphrase :
"The creatures of DOA are rocking your heart in these beautiful bride outfits, PS : NO LISA, xoxo".

I get what you're saying, and while she does exhibit a lot of generic anime attributes, I don't think we can really deny that she was clearly inspired the most by Sonico and especially Love Live's Honoka (admittedly, also a somewhat generic character) considering the fact that they share not only the same name, but also the exact same hairstyle and even a pose. Toss some pink hair and Sonico-esque measurements in there and you have Honoka. I don't believe that can be chalked up to pure coincidence.

Obviously, she's not a carbon copy of any specific character, not to the degree of causing potential legal trouble. But I think it's obvious that specific elements from specific popular characters were used. Honestly, the same can be said for Marie Rose too. A lot of generic elements, but fans were quick to point out that she very closely resembles 3 or 4 specific anime lolis.
To be fair, the hairstyle and pose aren't unique to them, that's just a generic anime trait. Its really just the name.

The 80s side tail has been around since...well, the 80s. Bulma from DBZ rocked it back in the day too.

The main issue is that Salad and the Loli (Not sure if that should be a band name or a saturday morning cartoon) were designed from the ground up as being as generic as all hell to appeal to the Japanese market, who are adverse to individuality.
Why such hate? Schoolgirl Alpha looks great, at least she finally got something that is an actual costume for once.

Be grateful ya'll.
Its a slap in the face, is the issue. Like they are intentionally flipping off the fans. "you want a costume for alpha? Fine, here's a copy paste from kasumi, FUCK YOU"

I wouldn't consider Honoka generic. Sure she does use other characters movesets and is inspired by Honoka of Love Live, but she still seems like a really interesting and fun character. She is pretty cute and those skulls make her design pop. Also her copying concept is pretty unique imo. Instead of her being another experiment character who knows everyone's style or a boss who knows everyone's style, she is a normal girl with a curse and is excited to learn and use other fighters moves. She seems A ok in my book.

Even though I do hope that she continues to copy other fighters, she should also add her own version of their moves and such to make her seem unique as well. :)

Yeah there might be alot more Honoka's in anime, but they are alot more of every other type of character in this game too. I mean I like Bass alot and he is pretty generic. Same for many other characters in DOA and fighting games as a whole.

Hearing these Valentine's Day requests and ideas sincerely reminds me why I need to limit my time on the forums and spend more time playing Shadows of Mordor.

too bad we got a ugly costume for Marie Rose that won the contest and made it into the game.

Ugly? It was pretty cute and unique and was a pretty cool outfit. I do hope that TN use more of these costumes as dlc though.

They should make one more contest so that every character can be included this time.

I honestly don't wanna see that costume in the future DOA games.

i understand you don't like the costume but do you have to be so negative about it [and where the creator could possibly see it] like damn

Black Bar outfits would probably be a character naked and then covering up the NSFW parts with a giant black bar lmao

You basically said the same thing Tyaren said. Again, I get that none of those individual elements are unique to either of them. If it was just the hair, or just the name, or just the pose that were the same that would be one thing and could easily be chalked up as coincidence. But two cutesy, side-ponytail-sporting teenage girls with clenched-fist "I'll do my best" poses named Honoka? Even if they wrote down every cliche anime trait in existence and drew them from a hat, I just don't buy it. Someone at TN must have seen Love Live and was heavily, shall we say... "inspired" by it. That's what I think, at least.
