Well FSD is known for hating boobs with a passion, so it is as expected lol.

This is not true at all, on FSD I saw all the categories, from users that are very interested to the fanservice and that like sexy outfits for females, to others interested to the same thing but on the males, to others caring only for getting proper outfits and to others not showing interest for this casual aspect.

The fact is that, from what I realized, the majority of people here (or at least the vocal one) care for fanservice (addressed to the women) but also for proper cool outfits for guys and gals (and "cool" doesn't mean automatically that can't be sexy too). Now that DoA is a game so open to the DLC expansion, something aniticipated since DoA4 and never really applied unitl now, for many people here appear just as a wasted chance to use them for one themed outfits for a restricted number of girls. These packs could be less and alternated (with a major frequency than the current one) with DLC packs of proper singular outfits for the complete roster (so not females excluded, just not only for them).

How is this not a perfect fit?

This is work of @JKT, together with Momiji "ghost" it was my faourite design for her (even if I really liked the one selected from TN for the game too ).

My fiancé and myself play DOA, and have done for years, and she (like any other down to earth person, man or woman, gay or straight) appreciates not only the sexy-ness of the characters, but also the more interesting outfits.

The problem, from the fans point of view, lies in blatant titillation for the stake of dlc sales, and the laziness of palette swaps. There is no harm in a well designed outfit, as long as it fits the roll. Be it a bikini or baggy over-alls and a welders mask!

To me the problem is not the sex itself. Is the kind of clothing characters have and the distinction that DOA does between men and women. A fighting outfit can be sexy and revealing the same a bikini is. Just look Leinfang's new costume, or Kasumi's. I would like to see more warrior/fighting costumes and less casual or beach or underwear DLC. Casual clothes are ok, but in DoA is too much. Sometimes looks more like an erotic game or a dating game or catwalk than a fighting game. And what is worst is that those kind of outfits I would like to see more only males are the ones who get them while women look ridicule in outfits like maids, playboy bunnies or towels&pijamas.

My main complaint is that over half the time, especially with Ultimate, the costumes are completely arbitrary to the character they are put on, for example, Mila, Ayane, Hitomi's outfits from the Casual dlc pack. I want more outfits that actually fit the characters personality and theme. Even with the fetish packs, they should be custom tailored to each character, rather than copy paste. A good example is the Schoolgirl packs. They are mostly unique to each girl, and actually fit well.

At the most they associated Marie Rose to the Valentine's day last year, but I believe more for promoting the character to the Western fans pre-release on console.

I don't think, Honoka is actually inspired by that Honoka. Why would TN knowingly do that? They know very well, that people were going to bitch and make fun of that. Worse than that, they could be sued by the other company. Both Honokas are basically super generic, overly cute school girls. You find thousands of them in anime, manga and games. Don't forget, others call her also a knock off of FF's Serah Farron. For me Honoka is just a lazy copy of Marie Rose, who proofed to be highly popular, just with more boobs and ass.

I have never heard anyone refer to Honoka as DOA's Sarah Farron... I have heard more people say she was inspired by the highly popular anime character Super Sonico who has pink hair and is considered curvy. Not to mention they both have similar personality traits. (And that white swimsuit is very similar to one that Super Sonico wears in a couple episodes)

See, you know yet another character, she was supposedly based on. There are thousands more.
And that is exactly the point:
There are thousands of cute, pink haired school girls in anime, manga and games, just as there are thousands of Marie Roses in anime, manga and games. They weren't intentionally copying anyone, but just lazily throwing together attributes, that would sell well: Lolita body type, big boobs, pink hair, school uniform, overly cute behavior, high pitched voice. A high profile developer/publisher would not knowingly risk getting publicly ridiculed or even sued for stealing some other company's character design.
