Kind of nice we get the sub menu in the character select screen, but we don't get the Arcade UI. Even though it was a minor thing, the character portraits added something extra. The current UI is quite boring, imo.
You never know, it could be added in later.

It's just a speculation of mine but I'm starting to think that maybe TN could wish purposefully to not add it just for making evident when a gameplay come from the Arcade version (exactly as the color of the bars are always changed from a version of DoA5 to another).

By the way the inclusion of the HUD was asked to TN more times, at this point they should know that we would like to get it in the game and maybe they could even add it in the final version of the game.

PS: In any cases I believe that the inclusion of the customize system from the Arcade is definitely a more useful addition to the game, while the HUD would be only an aestethical bonus (even if appreciated).

But you can differentiate which version is with the bars color. Last Round can have the characters portraits and people will know which version is because of the blue and green color.

But, we don't know if there aren't any new stages.

Maybe for that build, no new stages. yes. But for the whole finished game? I doubt it. For DOA5U we had Lost World, Aircraft Carrier, Sky City Tokyo, Forest, Lorelei, Haunted Lorelei and that Desert Stage.

LR, we have Danger Zone 1, and Crimson so far. I do hope that they are not the only new stages coming to LR.
Hope is an understatement, I guarantee there will be more than the two we saw. Kind of obvious. The fact that they didn't even allow people to play the doa5u stages that is locked is an indication that there will be not only more stages, but also a possibility that the current old stages could have extra areas within it.
The question is, how many extra or new stages, what stages could have extra areas? Or of course they are adding more textures/better bump maps and revamping the look of the old stages to a current gen look.

i feel like street ( idk the name) will be upgraded to be able to break out into the actual street
I wish....then we could get a reskinned return of the doa4 vegas strip.

Though if they did that, I wish they would do two more things.

1). Enlarge the Gym stage so you can be knocked out of the ring and fight through the surrounding equipment

2) make it so you could be knocked out the back door into the street area for a full stage transition

Just discussing on what we know, I like the extra detail in the city stage. It looks a lot nicer.

That said, I don't think the stages will be expanded. That would require them to play too differently from how people know them, and I don't see that happening.

Injustice? That would require way too much; however, I have noticed the dropped free combos from dangerzones, too! But wouldn't most just play from transitions then? It's just another setup/reward thing. However, I do see a positive in that wall-fucking may occur less (provided the opponent hits a command attack activating the transition: Back 3 (4 or 6 and whatever you have set the A or X buttons to do in DOA's notation) in Injustice for example)

It would also evoke complacency. If you played Injustice, you know how interactables play a huge role! There's one stage with a missle launcher and usually players would camp to zone (worse if one is Deathstroke). But the question would be: What would connect and how would it connect? We do have some stage transitions,' here:

Home, Temple of the Dragon, Scramble, Fuel. Street, Flow, Lorelei/Haunted Lorelei

The difference between Injustice and DOA5 is horizontal vs. vertical transition (and length - timewise)

Never seems to be a balance between strong optimism and pessimism here.
You said it. It's like, if I were to be cautiously positive and still support the game despite my own disappointments without being too vocal about how disappointed I am, nobody bats an eye. But the minute I'm genuinely hyped or thoroughly disappointed about something, everyone loses their minds.

I guess many believe balance is "boring".

Well people go to two extremes of

optimism - Show one trailer and it's already the greatest game ever.

or

pessimism - If this character gets in i'm destroying my doa collection.
Or it's more like:

Optimism - One trailer and it's going to be the best game ever.

or

Pessimism - 2-3 weeks without a trailer and it's already - "not worth the money, same game since last year, nothing new, only 2 new costumes, hate the game already, blah blah blah."
