News Team NINJA Costume Contest

Not that I'm unhappy about my Christie design but I feel like I could have done more though. I was thinking of doing some slight modifications by changing the color of the half-gloves and maybe add a big diamond ring on one hand but I doubt later revisions are going to be taken under consideration.

oh hell no, you go girl! I know as soon as I have PhotoShop again, I'm going to draw my costume as I wish I could have submitted it during the contest, and post it to their facebook, saying flat out "didn't have PhotoShop during contest, this is how I wanted to turn it in!"

Hey, let's post a list of the outfits, that you think, will very likely be chosen to be DLC (not necessarily the ones you personally would like to be DLC):

Akira:

Even though Bananakira was by far the most popular costume, I don't think, Team Ninja will go for the joke costume (SEGA might also have objections) but for this one.

Alpha 152:

I don't think, any of the outfits will make it into DLC. We might get some recolors for free in the future though.

Ayane:

This wasn't only the most popular Ayane outfit, but it was also a favorite of Team Ninja, so this will very likely make it in. Most of the other Ayane costumes were also very similar to already existing costumes.

As Ayane will probably get some more costumes in the future, I can see TN integrating this one into the game as well. It is cute, sexy and reminiscent of older Ayane costumes featuring this bunny.

Bass:

Simple yet cool and recognizable. The only serious contender for a Bass DLC outfit.

Bayman:

Cool, stylish, easy to make and it's basically a twin of Leon's outfit. Team Ninja seems to like the idea of giving twin costumes to several characters, so why not here as well?

Brad:

I don't think, any of the outfits will make it into DLC.

Christie:

Obviously one of Team Ninja's favorites and actually a really good design, if you overlook the overly chibified drawing style.

Ein:

Probably none of his outfits.

Eliot:

A cute and easy to make outfit (basically a recolor), Alice in Wonderland was recently all the rage in Japan. I'm not so sure, Team Ninja get's the kilt outfit, even though it was the overall winner of the contest.

Gen Fu:

A really well made design, that would suit Gen Fu just perfectly.

Ryu Hayabusa:

I think, this one has the most potential and most people would like to buy it.

Hayate:

In my eyes not really much of a competition there.

Helena:

Really well made design, stylish and recognizable. I think, many Helena fans would like to see her like that.

This one might also have a good chance to be integrated into the game. Probably many Helena fans would like her to be a ballerina.

Hitomi:

Military is all the rage in Japan and Japanese seem to have an affinity for especially German military uniforms, as you can see in countless manga, anime and games. Was just a matter of time for Hitomi to receive her's.

Jacky:

Probably none for Jacky.

Jann Lee:

Probably also none for Jann Lee.

Kasumi:

No one will seriously doubt that...

As there will be tons of costumes for Kasumi in the future, I think, this one has very good chances as well. Sexy, cute, cherry blossoms, very Kasumi.

Kokoro:

Simple, yet cute and just a really well made design. I can totally see Kokoro in this.

Last batch of costumes, that I think, will make it into the game.

Leifang:

Very Leifang, also, Team Ninja seems to really like it.

Leon:

Really badass, well designed and it's just perfect for Leon.

Lisa:

I have the feeling this one might make it in. It unique and suits Lisa really well. Love the contrast of fabric and skin tone.

Marie Rose:

After all the second place of the whole contest and a very original, recognizable design.

Mila:

I can totally see Mila in this. It's tomboyish, yet cute and sexy.

Momiji:

I'm not so sure, with any of her outfits...but this one might make it in, I think.

Rachel:

By far the best Rachel design... And I think, the act of sabotage did actually push this entry even more.

Rig:

Only the third best in the voters' view, but I think, Team Ninja would go more in this direction with him than Skull Rig and Hoodie Rig is imho too similar to already existing outfits.

Sarah:

Probably none for her. Musketeer Sarah is much to elaborate. I doubt, they'd take so much time for her...

Tina:

I can see TN dress her like that...

Zack:

Probably none for him.

These are the entries I think will make it in the game and for the character they were designed for:
1) Kimono Kasumi
2) Ying Yang Lei Fang (say that 3 times fast XD)
3) Fiend Rachel (and if not then in NG)
4) Cruella Deville inspired Christie
5) Punk Rock Eliot
6) Rose Leather Jacket Marie Rose
7) King Bass
8) White hooded outfit Lisa
9) Ivy Inspired Ayane
10) Broken out of Lab Phase 4

Top outfits I don't think will either a) make it into the game or b) be given to the character they were designed for:
1) Sci-fi assassin body suit Christie: it is a very good design (even if it had that questionable jump in likes within the last couple days at the end of the contest ) but it doesn't fit the character (which is my opinion) and is the only outfit that TN didn't agree with as being the favorite entry for a character. And we all know TN = final decision maker. Could possibly be given to Momiji since all ninjas are getting futuristic suits for some odd reason. XD
2) Bananakira (unless TN has spoken with Sega and they are okay with Akira's representation as a banana. Which if they aren't okay with it they'll be very sorry ). Could be given to another male character which if it's not given to Akira I hope this is the case.
3) Punk Rig: now hoodie Rig may be a possibility given it's simplicity and TN isn't going to want to put a ton of time and effort into each character.
4) Slasher Ryu: It's not impossible but I agree with Tyaren Cop Ryu will sell better and is a more appealing design overall.
5) Rocker wrestling Tina: Complicated design that I don't think TN is willing to put resources toward unless it gets some modifications.

Anything that sexualizes the men.

I would probably color it semi-digitally like how I did the Jacky entry and airbrush the Dalmatian shirt for the transparent effect but I guess I could just leave it at that.

glad to see your list, but we already did this weeks ago lol. again on Mila, u woulda been all for it if she were wearing pants, but the shorty shorts ruin it for me. I want a boyish outfit, not just q "cute" outfit for Mila.

After messing around in VF5FS's customization mode, I'm fairly confident Sega has few objections to humorous costumes.

I'm kinda hoping I don't see military Hitomi... if we do get that one it might be the only Hitomi costume I don't buy I'm really not a fan of it. The costume with the red shirt is far more fitting of Hitomi and gels well with her other costumes.

Same goes with Doctor/Slasher/Police Hayabusa, they're unfitting of a Super Ninja that and I'd prefer he'd get some more traditional costumes the only thing he has traditional is his C2 the Classic Blue. I need more traditional shozokus like DOA2U's C5 C6 and C7 and DOA3's C2

unfortunately, "suits the character" has never been a factor with costumes...there's quite a few of the costumes I would never buy. depending on what becomes dlc, I'm debating if I even get compatibility packs. here's hoping good outweighs bad.

I would agree since I'm not a big fan of the military outfit myself however I find the other one too similar to her 5U outfit:

I liked these better not only b/c they fit her character better they are something a 20 year old girl would actually wear (source: I have a 19 y/o sister. XD):

The military uniform is my favourite outfit of the contest for Hitomi, but I agree anyway with @David Gregg
