Voiceover should be a requirement for this kind of project. I appreciate the effort but the lack of audible narration really does hurt it overall.

EDIT: Watched a bit more. FAR too much 'showing' on the Environment video. Seriously, three minutes to show it's been important? Bit much. Could have probably used a drop shadow or outline on the text, too, since it occasionally gets hard to read during the video.

Real good video man. Will get people at least on the right footing with the game. Kayane FB'd it so her fans/people will know about it as well. Great work buddy.

*edit*
Didn't realize she was excited about the game. Hopefully those SC players will give the game a shot as well!

i guess its a taste thing at the end of the day .. i personally prefer the written approach because that way you can just pause n read .. when u wanna test something out :) ...

also.. i find the amount of umms and im sorry i mean this .. quite irritating ..

some people like the talking though and i totally get it ...
maybe next time i can do both at the same time .. :)

as long as i feel its up to quality and does infact add to the value of whats being shown ..i never did it before so we'll have to wait n see ..

I like reading since the action on-screen is vocal enough, plus I can pause it to see what works instead of having to rewind it every so lines lmao. But hey, to each their own...guess it'll be best to have both to lessen the crowd who aren't happy without it.

Fuck it tho, I appreciate what we have right now so great Job man.

I'm going through these now . . . REALLY WELL DONE.

Thanks for taking the time for doing this EMPEROR. I always wanted to do something like this, high quality, easy to follow, fanservice, and so shiny.

There was A LOT of effort put into this.

Very nice work and material.

But I really dislike the music choice. Hayates/Hayabusas/EINs etc. themes are a bad choice IMO because character themes are action oriented in general. They are are "loud" and annyoing. DOAs sparring themes (any) would fit the shown material much better. After all, it's about teaching/telling you the basics of DOA(5), right. :)

Still, awesome stuff. Hope it will help out players who are new to the series.

i think i put all the training songs at several points .. particularly the longer parts because i can easily loop them ... i also put calmer tracks and i put the cutsey fartsy japanese anime bubbly tracks ...tried to please everyone .. lol

but i felt i had to start with the heavy hitter tracks to attract people .. at least that was the idea ...
that .. and to mask the background music of the earlier vids (cuz i didnt know how to play the matches with the stage track disabled .. my bad >__>)

i got a few pms about the music tracks infact .. lol its kinda funny ..

with a big project like this obviously you cant please all tastes .. and i believe that you have to add a touch of your taste in your work .. u know ?

for example im not a fan of talking in my vids .. i prefer writing because i wouldnt hesitate or stutter and ill get my idea accross straight away ... and you can easily pause and read at your own pace ... go to training mode .. mess around with whats written .. press play and move on to the next topic ...

dont get me wrong i think it takes alot of skill to do voice over tutorials .. and to do them just right ... but for that u need:
- a good voice
- good audio capture
- no stutter
- confidence .. no "umms" and no "i meant this or that" ...
- a shit ton of editing to have what you say flow well with what is being shown ...
if the example was faster than what you wanted to say you're screwed cuz you either have to put another example or you have to shorten what you're saying or redo everything altogether

with text you dont have to worry about any of that .. just about .. is it understandable ? is it clear ? and is there enough time to read and if there isnt you can simply edit in a still or just 2 characters in neutral state .. because their eyes will be on the text ..

but if you talk .. they'll be staring at an idle screen .. personally i find that annoying and boring ..

plus you can watch it on mute ... but you cant do that with a voice over .. and you have to suffer with whatever horrid music taste the speaker has ... or nose slirps if he has a cold .. >__>

it was alot of work man .. (sure as hell screwed up my social life till i got it done .. lol )

but agian you cant please everyone .. and you sure as hell cant be 100 % perfect ...

but as long as i managed to turn some heads around to see what doa5 is about .. im happy .. :)

I remember one of my concerns now, in one of those tutorials you said, "Guard breaks/crush couldn't be slow escaped out of." Is this something new they added to the game because you could SE those before.

The presentation is done well and the information is good for the most part. I only watched the hold video though.

A few notes:

- The text can be hard to read at times.

- In the hold video you note that attacks with a single input that hit multiple times cannot be held after the first hit. This is not universal.

- As I mentioned in the past, you're going to have to make changes/updates to these videos... in as little as two weeks even. I know you don't mind doing the extra work, but I really think this project would've been better suited for the retail release. Depending on how much of a stickler you are to minor details, you may even need to redo the entire project upon release.
