The Fight Stick Thread

hey guys i am really new to this. anyways 3 weeks ago i bought the dead or alive 5 hori fight stick. I want to change the artwork for it since i don't use kasumi or ayane but i cant seem to find any template for it. people tell me that the dead or alive stick is a re-skinned version of the soul calibur 5 stick but when i checked its template it seems like for the soul calibur stick the buttons are a farther away from the joystick and its last two buttons to the right are directly under the start button compartment as compared to the dead or alive version. now i am stuck since a have no clue where to find or create a template for my stick. i would be grateful if anyone could help.
don't worry dude. we are in same situation. it's hard to find the plexiglass and template for DOA5 version. why hori design this stick with different style, unlike SC5 and TTT2 version? i wonder, among TTT2, SC5, DOA5, and Gundam VS, only DOA5 is different.

DOA being different for the sake of being different and not better off because of it? That sounds familiar...

DOA5 stick is the HRAP.A3/AX with A referring to the Sega Astro City layout. The other ones are the HRAP.N3/NX with the N referring to the Namco Noir layout.

On a related note, I've gotten some clarification on the current state of PS4 compatibility. It seems that for dev kits at least, generic USB controllers without the new PS4 security chip work fine, however this is most likely not the case with the retail version coming this fall.

=(

Hopefully my Cerberus can be upgraded with a simple firmware update to be compatible with the PS4. But you mention a security chip, a la the Xbox 360 one, and that doesn't bode well... Boo.

My design was selected as one of the finalists for the Razer Atrox panel design contest.

I have a question regarding Seimitsu joysticks. I have currently use a Sanwa JLF and the travel distance seems too long: it adds some milliseconds to reaction times, and inputs are generally too slow for my taste.

I've been browsing through the net, but couldn't find enough info on different joysticks, SO, does anybody know which Seimitsu joystick would have a reasonably short travel/throw distance with a square gate, BUT still be precise enough so that diagonal inputs, e.g. :3::3:, would come out without problems? I've been thinking about LS-55 or LS-33...?

I'm tempted to get an SCV stick since they're $70 and dual-mod it even though it probably won't work on next-gen systems... I don't know why I'm considering this so much.

yah they go on sell every few months or so. Same on madcatz site. You just have to catch them on sale. I have a feeling some mod will come out that will allow them to work on the next gens.

can someone help me? i'm about to change my DOA5 stick artwork...i want to use this street fighter logo
Street_fighter_logo.png

or this logo

but, since i don't have adobe photoshop, and i don't know the actual measurement for buttons, spacing between stick and button like you guys did, so i cannot create the artwork.

i planning to use black and orange theme for my DOA5 stick, means my buttons will be orange, and the ball also will be changed to orange color.

can someone help me?

if i want to print it out, what type of paper should be used? the plexiglass for this stick, is nowhere to find.

Thread is right up my alley (since I do moderate SRK's Tech Talk section).

Project: International Slumber - Art Hobbies TEK-1 case, Toodles MCCthulhu, MadCatz 360 FightPad, Sparky Jr. + 6 Arc Eyes under Seimitsu PS14-Gs. Custom 35mm balltop by butteroj with a limited edition Toodles metal shaft cover.

This next one isn't mine, it belongs to a friend but I modded it when he leant it to me.

Project: TwinTail.

PlayTech Pro Arcade PS2/PS3/PC stick. Generic stick and buttons swapped in for a Sanwa JLF-TM (taken from a HRAP-EX) and 8 OBSF-30's (color coded). JLF is modifed with an aditional LS-33 spring over the stock JLF spring. Can fit either a bat or balltop via easy access hole drilled into the bottom (bat top shown). Entire stick is coated in metallic paint.

I actually have another art-modded stick, but I need to find pictures of it first.
